Mohammed Ali Ndume is a Nigerian politician who is the chief whip of the 10th Senate. He is the senator representing Borno South senatorial district since 2011. He was a member of the House of Representatives of Nigeria from 2003 to 2011. He is currently a member of the All Progressives Congress.

Abubakar Kyari is a Nigerian politician who is the minister of Agriculture and Food Security. He was the senator representing Borno North Senatorial District from 2015 until his resignation in April 2022. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress, and briefly served as its acting national chairman in 2023.

Mohammed Tahir Monguno is a Nigerian lawyer and politician who is the senator representing Borno North Senatorial District in the 10th Assembly. He was the member of the House of Representatives of Nigeria representing Marte/Monguno/Nganzai Federal Constituency of Borno State, and served as the chief Whip of the 9th House of Representatives.

The 2023 Borno State gubernatorial election took place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Borno State, concurrent with elections to the Borno State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—was held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has been renominated by his party.

The 2015 Nigerian Senate election in Borno State was held on March 28, 2015, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Borno State. Abubakar Kyari representing Borno North, Ahmed Zanna representing Borno Central and Mohammed Ali Ndume representing Borno South all won on the platform of All Progressives Congress.

The 2007 Nigerian Senate election in Borno State was held on April 21, 2007, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Borno State. Omar Hambagda representing Borno South, Maina Maaji Lawan representing Borno North and Kaka Mallam Yale representing Borno Central all won on the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party.
