Nobel Energy (official name Nobel Energy Management LLC, formerly Nobel Oil Services Ltd) is a group of companies concentrated in the energy industry providing integrated engineering, construction, procurement and supply chain management, and drilling services. [1] Nobel Energy is a part of NEQSOL Holding, an international group of companies, acting in energy, telecommunications, high-technology, and construction industries in the UK, the USA, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and the UAE. History

Nobel Energy was established in 2005 [4] by Nasib Hasanov [5] an Azerbaijan-born businessman, as a technical service provider, offering services to the oil and gas industry in the Caspian region. These include wells’ work over, drilling, installation, construction, engineering and maintenance, repair and operations services. [6] [3]

In 2007, Absheron Qazma (AQS), a company's subsidiary, established a joint venture with SOCAR – SOCAR AQŞ to deliver integrated drilling and well management services. [7] [8]

In 2012, Nobel Energy established Global Energy Solutions (Glensol) and Prokon. Glensol’s key focus areas have been field operations and equipment maintenance services in Azerbaijan and regionally. Prokon has specialized in management of integrated infrastructure, industrial plants and facilities construction processes from design adaptation to procurement and construction. [9]

In 2014, Nobel Energy reorganised its corporate structure to place its Azerbaijan-based businesses under a parent company headquartered in the UK and align its business processes with international standards. [3]

In 2014, the company developed its exploration and production activities and established Llamrei DMCC focused on procurement and trading, logistics and expediting services, as well as warehouse and materials management.

In 2015, Nobel Energy acquired 50% of Denholm Oilfield Services Limited’s fabrication business in Azerbaijan. The same year, Glensol established a JV with Denholm Valvecare Limited to provide valve maintenance services. [10]

In 2017, Nobel Energy and its subsidiaries received “Transparent Tax Partner” status granted by the Ministry of Taxes for transparent financial performance. [11]

In 2017, Glensol expanded its business to Kazakhstan. [12]

In 2018, SOCAR AQS established a joint venture with KCA Deutag to provide well drilling and engineering services for the oil and gas industry. [13]

In 2018, Nobel Energy established a joint venture with Wood for the provision of engineering, procurement and construction management services. [1]

In 2019, Prokon and SOCAR AQS entered Turkish markets. [14]

In 2019, Nobel Energy received a ISO 37001:2016 certification (Anti-Bribery Management System) by LRQA, Lloyds register's Business Assurance and Inspection Services division. Nobel Energy renewed the certification in 2022. [15]

On 1 December 2021, the company announced a major rebrand, and set out a new strategy to transform the business from an Oil and Gas Services to an Integrated Energy Production, Development and Services company. Company name was changed from Nobel Oil Services to Nobel Energy. [16]

It specializes in project and construction management; fabrication and installation of structural steelwork, upgrades of offshore facilities; pipework systems including high-pressure flow lines, vessels, tanks and related packages; field operations and equipment maintenance; integrated drilling and well services; enhanced oil recovery services, and integrated supply chain management. Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli or Azeri–Chirag–Deepwater Gunashli is a complex of oil fields in the Caspian Sea, about 120 kilometres (75 mi) off the coast of Azerbaijan. It consists of the Azeri and Chirag oil fields, and the deepwater portion of the Gunashli oil field. An overall estimate of the area of the development is 432.4 square kilometres (167.0 sq mi). It is developed by the Azerbaijan International Operating Company, a consortium of international oil companies, and operated by BP on behalf of the consortium. The ACG fields have estimated recoverable reserves of about 5 to 6 billion barrels of petroleum. Peak oil production of 835,000 barrels per day (132,800 m3/d) was reached in 2010, however by the first quarter of 2022 production had declined to 434,000 barrels per day (69,000 m3/d), or about one-half of peak value. As of 2021, ACG oil accounted for 95% of all Azerbaijani oil exports.

Azerbaijan International Operating Company is a consortium formed to implement the terms of the “Agreement on the Joint Development and Production Sharing for the Azeri and Chirag Fields and the Deep Water Portion of the Gunashli Field in the Azerbaijan Sector of the Caspian Sea” signed among SOCAR and international companies.

The Majnoon Oil Field is a super-giant oil field located 60 km (37 mi) from Basra in southern Iraq. Majnoon is one of the richest oil fields in the world with an estimated 38 billion barrels of oil in place. The field was named Majnoon which means crazy in Arabic in reference to excessive amount of oil in a dense area.

Two-thirds of energy in Azerbaijan comes from fossil gas and almost a third from oil. Azerbaijan is a major producer of oil and gas, much of which is exported. Most electricity is generated by gas-fired power plants. Energy is all types of energy products, including fuel, renewable energy, water energy, electrical and heat energy.

Karabagh is an offshore oil and gas field in the Caspian Sea, located 120 km (75 mi) east of Baku, Azerbaijan, in the northern part of Absheron archipelago. A risk service agreement (RSA) for the development of the Karabagh field was signed on 30 May 2018, between SOCAR and Equinor (Statoil). The Karabagh oilfield is located 120 kilometres east of Baku, close to the SOCAR operated Shallow Water Gunashli (SWG) field and the BP operated Azeri Chirag Gunashli (ACG) field.

Caspian International Petroleum Company was a joint operating company established by production shareholding companies for exploration, development and production sharing of the Karabakh field in the section of the Caspian Sea within Azerbaijan.

Bahar is an offshore petroleum reservoir in the Caspian Sea, located 40 km (25 mi) southeast of Baku, Azerbaijan. The field was discovered in 1968 and was first developed in 1969. Prior to 2010, it produced approximately 16.8 million tonnes of oil and 128.7 billion cubic meters of gas. There had been up to 93 wells operating in the field during the peak of production; the number has since decreased to 16.

Gum Deniz is an offshore oil and gas field in the Caspian Sea, located 21 km (13 mi) southeast of Baku, Azerbaijan. The field has been in operation since 1955. Gum Deniz has produced approximately 28.9 million tonnes of oil and 27 billion cubic meters of gas to date. In March 2009, Azerbaijan drilled its last well No. 478 in Gum Deniz field before new production sharing agreement for development of the field was signed with a foreign company in December 2009. The well produces 50 tonnes of oil on daily basis.

Dan Ulduzu field is an oil and gas field located 105 km (65 mi) northeast of Baku, Azerbaijan, west of Karabakh field, in the northern section of Absheron archipelago. In Azerbaijani, Dan Ulduzu means Pole Star.

Ashrafi field is an oil and gas field located 105 km (65 mi) northeast of Baku, Azerbaijan, west of Karabakh field, in the northern section of Absheron archipelago.

Shafag-Asiman is a large complex of offshore geological structures in the Caspian Sea located 125 km (78 mi) southeast of Baku, Azerbaijan. The Shafag and Asiman structures have been previously called D8 and D10, respectively.

Umid gas field is the second largest natural gas field in Azerbaijan. It is situated in the South Caspian Sea, off the coast of Azerbaijan, approximately 75 kilometres (47 mi) southeast of Baku, at a depth of 170 metres (560 ft). In translation from Azerbaijani, Umid means Hope.

The Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline is a natural gas pipeline in Turkey. It is the central part of the Southern Gas Corridor, which connects the giant Shah Deniz gas field in Azerbaijan to Europe through the South Caucasus Pipeline and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline. The pipeline has a strategic importance for both Azerbaijan and Turkey. It allows the first Azerbaijani gas exports to Europe, beyond Turkey. It also strengthens the role of Turkey as a regional energy hub.

Baku Shipyard LLC is a shipyard plant in Azerbaijan. It is a joint venture between State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic, Azerbaijan Investment Company (AIC) and Keppel Corporation. The construction and operation of the plant is also a joint effort between the three companies.

NEQSOL Holding is an international group of companies. Most companies of the group are active in the fields of energy, telecommunications, construction and high-tech.
