Nora Istrefi (born 25 March 1986) is a Kosovo-Albanian singer.

Life and career

1986–2004: Early life and career beginnings

Istrefi was born to Nezir Istrefi and Suzana Tahirsylaj on 25 March 1986 into an Albanian family in the city of Pristina, then part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, present Kosovo. [1] [2] Istrefi started her professional career at the age of 18.

2005–present: Engjëll and continued success

She released her first album Engjëll (Angel) in 2005, with songs including "Taxi", which brought her a degree of popularity. [3] During the four coming years she released three albums, Opium in 2006, Another World in 2008 and her self-titled album Nora in 2009. After 2009, she released a number of songs, including "Le Mama" with Gena, "Big Love", "Ski me ikë". [4] Istrefi is the daughter of Suzana Tahirsylaj, a popular Kosovo-Albanian singer in the 1980s and '90s. [5] Her younger sister Era Istrefi is also a singer. [6] She is in a relationship with Robert Berisha. They were engaged on 22 May 2008 in Pristina. On 2 September 2014, the couple married in Pristina. They have a girl named Renè. [7] [8]

Trim Ademi, known professionally as Capital T, is a Kosovo-Albanian rapper, singer, songwriter and philanthropist. Born and raised in Pristina, his uncle introduced him to music and rapping at an early age. He rose to recognition in the Albanian-speaking world, after the release of his first two albums Replay (2010) and KAPO (2012). Due to the success of his albums, he founded his own record label Authentic Entertainment.

Miss Grand Kosovo is an annual Kosovan female beauty pageant founded in 2014 by a Pristina-based event organizer chaired by Sherif Pacolli, Lens Production. The pageant winner represents the country at its international parent contest, Miss Grand International. From 2014 to 2018, the pageant had been held in parallel with the Miss Grand Albania competition as Miss Grand Albania & Kosovo, but after Aleks Tanushi of Aleks Fashion Events (A.F.E.) took over the Albanian franchise in 2018, the pageant has been held as a stand-alone pageant during 2019–2021.
