Project Runeberg is a digital cultural archive initiative that publishes free electronic versions of books significant to the culture and history of the Nordic countries. Patterned after Project Gutenberg, it was founded by Lars Aronsson and colleagues at Linköping University and began archiving Nordic-language literature in December 1992. As of 2015 it had accomplished digitization to provide graphical facsimiles of old works such as the Nordisk familjebok, and had accomplished, in whole or in part, the text extractions and copyediting of these as well as esteemed Latin works and English translations from Nordic authors, and sheet music and other texts of cultural interest.
Nordisk familjebok is a Swedish encyclopedia that was published in print from between 1876 and 1993, and that is now fully available in digital form via Project Runeberg at Linköping University. The public domain editions of the encyclopedia remain important reference works in Finland, especially on Finnish Wikipedia.

The Nordic Council Literature Prize is awarded for a work of literature written in one of the languages of the Nordic countries, that meets "high literary and artistic standards". Established in 1962, the prize is awarded every year, and is worth 350,000 Danish kroner (2008). Eligible works are typically novels, plays, collections of poetry, short stories or essays, or other works that were published for the first time during the last four years, or in the case of works written in Danish, Norwegian, or Swedish, within the last two years. The prize is one of the most prestigious awards that Nordic authors can win.

The Nordic Football Championship was an international football competition contested by the men's national football teams of the Nordic countries. In the first tournament played 1924–1928, only Denmark, Norway and Sweden competed, but Finland joined for the second tournament, and at the last tournament played in 2000–2001, Iceland and the Faroe Islands also competed.
Modern paganism in Scandinavia is almost exclusively dominated by Germanic Heathenry, in forms and groups reviving Norse paganism. These are generally split into two streams characterised by a different approach to folk and folklore: Ásatrú, a movement that been associated with the most innovative and Edda-based approaches within Heathenry, and Forn Siðr, Forn Sed or Nordisk Sed, a movement marked by being generally more traditionalist, ethnic-focused and folklore-rooted, characterised by a worldview which its proponents call folketro. Forn Siðr may also be a term for Scandinavian Heathenry in general. Vanatrú defines the religion of those individuals or groups in which the worship of the Vanir dominates.

Nordisk Panorama Film Festival is an annual film festival for Nordic short and documentary films, founded in 1990 and organized by Nordisk Panorama. From 1990 to 2012, the festival rotated between different cities in the five Nordic countries. Since 2013, it has taken place in Malmö, Sweden in September every year.
Haakon Forwald is a leading member of the extreme right-wing Nordic paramilitary group Nordic Strength, founded in 2019. He was from 2010 to 2019 the leader of the Norwegian branch of the Nordic Resistance Movement (NRM), a neo-Nazi movement in Scandinavia. He has been described by the newspaper Verdens Gang as one of the most dangerous people in Northern Europe.
The Social Democratic Group is a social democratic party group on the Nordic Council, making up the largest group on the Council. Their members come from all Nordic countries, and the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland. The Nordic Combined Events Championships was an annual two-day competition in combined track and field events between athletes from the Nordic countries organised by Nordic Athletics. Established in 1949 as a biennial event, it lasted for ten editions before holding the last competition in 1970. Men competed in the decathlon and women competed in the pentathlon. The competition was hosted alongside the Nordic Marathon Championships. The stand-alone event was merged into the main Nordic Athletics Championships competition from 1961 to 1965.
The Nordic Indoor Race Walking Championships was a biennial one-day competition in indoor racewalking between athletes from the Nordic countries organised by Nordic Athletics. Established in 1974, it lasted for three editions before holding the last competition in 1978. The competition was held in February in even-numbered years, alternating with the Nordic Race Walking Championships held outdoors in odd-numbered years. Turku in Finland hosted the first and final editions, while Östersund in Sweden served as host for the second edition.
