North American Table Tennis Championships

The North American Table Tennis Championships is a table tennis tournament for North America. It was first held in 1985 in Lake Placid. After this edition the North American Championships were suspended till 1991. Since 1991, the tournament was held every year.

The 1991 U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships was an Association of Tennis Professionals men's tennis tournament held in Charlotte, North Carolina in the United States. The event was part of the ATP World Series category of the 1991 ATP Tour. It was the 23rd edition of the tournament and was played on outdoor clay courts and held from May 6 to May 13, 1991. Seventh-seeded Jaime Yzaga won the singles title.

The European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) is the governing body of the sport of table tennis in Europe, and is the only authority recognised for this purpose by the International Table Tennis Federation. The ETTU deals with all matters relating to table tennis at a European level, including the development and promotion of the sport in the territories controlled by its 58 member associations, and the organisation of continental table tennis competitions, including the European Championships.

The Latin American Table Tennis Championships is a table tennis tournament for Latin America. It was first held in 1978 in Mexico City. The second edition was held in 1980 in Rio de Janeiro. After these two editions the Latin American Championships were suspended till 1989. Between 1989 and 1992, the tournament was held every year. Between 1994 and 2000, the tournament was held every two years. Since 2001 the tournament has been held annually. Since its first edition the tournament has included seven competitions; namely, men's single, double and team; women's single, double and team; and mixed doubles.

Ichiro Ogimura was a Japanese table tennis player, coach, president of the ITTF and former World No. 1 who won 12 World Championship titles during his career. Ogimura was also a key figure in the Ping Pong Diplomacy events of the early 1970s, as well as being instrumental in Korea playing as a unified team at the 1991 World Table Tennis Championships.

Pan-American Para Table Tennis Championships is a quadrennial sports event for para table tennis players who represent a North, Central or South American country. It started in 1995, there was a six year break then in 2001, it became a biennial event, after 2005, it became a quadrennial event. This event occurs one year before the Parapan American Games as a qualifying tournament.

The annual U.S. Open is the oldest currently running table tennis tournament in the United States. It attracts over 600 athletes annually. The first events were actually run by either the New York Table Tennis Club or the American Ping Pong Association. The first USA Table Tennis (USTTA) tournament was held in 1934.
