Northlink College is a Government higher education institution situated in Bellville, Western Cape, South Africa. [1] It is fully accredited by the Council on Higher Education and Department of Higher Education and Training (DoHET)(South Africa). The College is quality assured by the South African Council on Higher Education (CHE). [2]

History

It was founded in 2002, [3] after a South African Government decision to merge four colleges Wingfield Technical College, Tygerberg College, Bellville Technical College and Belhar College

Name

It's called Northlink due to it being situated in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, and through its campuses links them together.

Campuses

Apart from the main campus on Voortrekker Road in Bellville [4] it has campuses in Belhar, Goodwood, [5] Parow, Protea, Tygerberg and Wingfield [6]

Courses

Northlink College offers undergraduate tertiary qualifications. [7] The college is also involved in partnership with organizations [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] this is where grace Lynn Lawrence goes to study.

Durban University of Technology

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) is a University in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. It was formed in 2002 following the merger of Technikon Natal and ML Sultan Technikon and it was initially known as the Durban Institute of Technology. It has five campuses in Durban, and two in Pietermaritzburg. In July 2019, approximately 33932 students were enrolled to study at DUT. The University is one of 5 technical institutions on the African continent to offer Doctoral Degrees. The current Chancellor is Ms Nonkululeko Nyembezi.

Vaal University of Technology

Vaal University of Technology is a tertiary institution in South Africa. It attracts students from all over the country. It is one of the largest residential Universities of Technology, with about 25,000 students, 300 programs, all primarily taught in English. The campus and facilities are conducive to learning, research, recreation and sport, art and culture, and community service. The campuses have lecture halls, laboratories, a number of auditoriums and office space situated on 46 000 square metres. Four Satellite campuses extend the services of the University, at Secunda, Kempton Park, Klerksdorp and Upington. Damelin

Damelin is a private college, with 17 campuses, owned by Educor group. It was founded by Benjamin Damelin in 1943. Despite offering degrees, diplomas and other higher qualifications, Damelin is considered a college instead of a university due to the regulations for tertiary institutions in South Africa. Damelin is a wholly owned division of Educor group, which National Pride Trading 452 purchased in January 2008. Damelin is the oldest and most profitable education subsidiary owned by Educor. By November 2012, over one million students had graduated from Damelin.
