It exhibits hundreds of species and thousands of animals across its seven major galleries, all of which reside in more than 11 million US gallons (42,000 m3) of water. It was the largest aquarium in the world from its opening in 2005 until 2012 when it was surpassed by the S.E.A. Aquarium in Singapore and the Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in China; the Georgia Aquarium remains the largest aquarium in the United States and the fourth largest in the world.

The pavilion is themed as an oceanic exploration base called SeaBase Alpha, with several exhibits devoted to oceanic study. The building includes an aquarium and its attached dark ride attraction, a talk show-type attraction called Turtle Talk with Crush, and the Coral Reef Restaurant. With 5.7 million US gallons of tank volume, the pavilion is also the second-largest aquarium in the U.S. and the sixth-largest in the world.

WordGirl is an American children's Flash animated superhero television series produced by the Soup2Nuts animation unit of Scholastic Entertainment for PBS Kids. The series began as a series of shorts entitled The Amazing Colossal Adventures of WordGirl that premiered on PBS Kids Go! on November 10, 2006, usually shown at the end of Maya & Miguel; the segment was then spun off into a new thirty-minute episodic series that premiered on September 3, 2007 on most PBS member stations. The series of shorts consisted of thirty episodes, with 130 episodes in the full half-hour series.

Jonathan Bird's Blue World is a family-friendly underwater science/adventure television program. The program is hosted by underwater cinematographer Jonathan Bird. This series airs on public television stations in the US. The program is designed for family viewing, and each segment finds Bird trying to unravel a mystery, witness an animal behavior or explore an underwater environment. The first season consisted of 5 half-hour programs filmed in standard definition, and the subsequent seasons were all shot in high-definition. The second and third seasons each won four New England Emmy Awards. The fourth season was nominated for a 2013 National Daytime Emmy Award. The pilot episode from season 1 won a CINE Golden Eagle Award. The program is magazine format with each television episode consisting of 2-3 segments. These segments appear individually on YouTube and the Blue World website as webisodes. There are currently 6 seasons.

Sea Rescue is an American 30-minute reality television program which showcases documented stories of rescue, rehabilitation and return to the wild of marine animals by a team of dedicated vets, animal care experts, animal science researchers and government authorities. This program debuted on ABC on April 7, 2012. From 2014, Sea Rescue was hosted by Matt Gutman of ABC News, taking over from former ABC News personality Sam Champion who hosted the series until 2014. The program appears as part of the Litton's Weekend Adventure live-action kids and family series programming block on the ABC TV network on Saturday Mornings. In 2016, Sea Rescue was honored by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Children's Series.
Beginning in 2013, The Daytime Emmy Awards currently give out two awards to honor hosts of culinary and lifestyle etc. programming. The categories are Outstanding Culinary Host and Outstanding Daytime Program Host. The category originated in 1994 and was known as the Outstanding Service Host. Prior to that, hosts of service and craft shows would compete in the Outstanding Talk Show Host category. In 2007, the category name was changed to Outstanding Lifestyle Host and was changed again in 2009 to Outstanding Lifestyle/Culinary Host.
The 41st Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony, which honors the crafts behind American daytime television programming, was held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles on June 20, 2014. The event was presented in conjunction with the 41st Daytime Emmy Awards by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The nominations were announced on May 1, 2014.
