Order of Distinguished Rule of Ghaazee, (The Most Honourable Order of Distinguished Rule of Ghaazee, or Insignia of the Most Distinguished Order of Ghazi, informally the Nishan Ghaazeege 'Izzatheri Veriya) is the highest national award in the Maldives. [1]

Recipients

The Most Honourable Order of Distinguished Rule of Ghaazee, Nishan Ghaazeege 'Izzatheri Veriya, the highest-ranked title in the Maldives, was awarded to Queen Elizabeth II on 1972 during her visit to the Maldives. The-Prime Minister Ibrahim Nasir gained the title following his victory as the independence hero of the Maldives. In 2013, President Maumoon was given the Nishan Ghaazeege 'Izzatheri Veriya title on the independence day celebration. [1]

After serving as transport minister, he was nominated president by the People's Majlis and succeeded Ibrahim Nasir in 1978. He was defeated in 2008 during the first Presidential Elections after democratic reforms in the Maldives. He holds the nations highest award, "The Most Honourable Order of Distinguished Rule of Ghaazee", presented to him in 2013. Maumoon was the longest-serving president in Asia.

Al Ameer Ibrahim Nasir Rannabandeyri Kilegefan, KCMG, NGIV commonly known as Ibrahim Nasir, was a Maldivian politician adhering to the non-aligned ideology and staunch anti-imperialist. Nasir served as the Prime Minister of the Maldives from 1957 to 1968 under the monarchy, and later the first President of the Second Republic of Maldives from 1968 to 1978. Nasir served two terms, then he decided to retire, even though the People's Majlis voted him in for a third term. Nasir is remembered as an independence hero for guiding the Maldives to independence from the British Empire, he is also credited for establishing the tourism industry in the Maldives, as well as rapidly modernizing and developing the country and economy.

Nishan-e-Pakistan is the highest civilian award of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. It is awarded to "those who have rendered services of highest distinction" to the national interest of Pakistan. Nishan is awarded to government officials and civilians, including citizens of Pakistan and foreign nationals. In the Pakistan honours system, Nishan-e-Pakistan is equivalent to Nishan-e-Haider, the highest military gallantry award. Established on 19 March 1975 under the Decorations Act, 1975, the award is not correlated to the rank or status of a person.

Abdul Rasheed Hussain is a historian, linguist and poet, and a former Minister of Cabinet of the Maldives during the Maumoon Abdul Gayoom administration. His first cabinet portfolio was as the Minister of Atolls Administration in 1993. In addition, he has filled other cabinet positions such as Minister of Employment and Labour, Minister of Planning, Human Resources and Environment, Minister of Fisheries, Agriculture and Marine Resources, and Minister for Higher Education, Employment and Social Security. He also served in the People's Majlis for over 20 years and served as the Deputy Speaker from 2000 to 2005. He holds a BA (Honours) in Economics from the University of Karachi in Pakistan and is the first Maldivian to hold a graduate degree in economics.

Abdulla Hameed was a Maldivian politician. He was the Minister of Atolls during the administration of his brother Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. Hameed was the Speaker of the Majlis from 1988 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 2004. He was a recipient of the Order of Distinguished Rule of Izzuddeen.

The Most Honourable Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin, or more informally the Order of Nishanizzuddeen, is the highest Maldivian honour which may be conferred upon a foreign national.
