Florida International University (FIU) is a public research university with its main campus in the neighborhood of University Park in the Westchester CDP of unincorporated Miami-Dade County, Florida. Founded in 1965 by the Florida Legislature, the school opened its doors to students in 1972. FIU has grown to become the third-largest university in Florida and the eighth-largest public university in the United States by enrollment. FIU is a constituent part of the State University System of Florida.

He served as the head football coach at Temple University from 2006 to 2010 and the University of Miami from 2011 to 2015. Oliver played college football for the University of Florida, and was twice recognized as an All-American. He was a first-round pick in the 1989 NFL Draft, and played professionally for the Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals of the NFL.
Devin Marquese Bush Sr. is an American former college and professional football player who was a safety in the National Football League (NFL) for eight seasons during the 1990s and early 2000s. Bush played college football for Florida State University (FSU), where he was a member of FSU's 1993 national championship team. He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round of the 1995 NFL Draft, and he also played professionally for the NFL's St. Louis Rams and Cleveland Browns.

The 2014 Miami Beach Bowl was a post-season American college football bowl game played on December 22, 2014, at Marlins Park in Miami, Florida. The first edition of the Miami Beach Bowl, it featured the American Athletic Conference co-champion Memphis Tigers against the BYU Cougars. It began at 2:00 p.m. EST and aired on ESPN. It was one of the 2014–15 bowl games that comprised the conclusion of the 2014 FBS football season.
Edgar Charles Jones was an American football and basketball player, college athletic director and banker. He played both sports at the University of Florida in the 1920s and set a Florida Gators football single-season scoring record that stood for 44 years. He was the university's athletic director from 1930 to 1936. He later served as executive vice president of Miami Federal Savings and Loan.
Dalvin James Cook is an American football running back for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Florida State, where he finished his career as the school's all-time leading rusher. Cook was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, where he spent six seasons with the team and earned Pro Bowl honors four times before being released in June 2023.
