Pacific Netball Series

The Pacific Netball Series is an annual netball competition organised by the Oceania Netball Federation. This is played by the top four non elite teams in the INF World Rankings.

Contents

The first competition was hosted by Samoa in 2009. [1] Cook Islands won the inaugural tournament with hosts Samoa second. Papua New Guinea was third. Fiji pulled out of the event. [2]

The second competition was held in the Cook Islands in 2010. Fiji were the winners over Samoa. Hosts Cook Islands took third with Papua New Guinea fourth. [3]

The third competition was held in Papua New Guinea in 2011. [4] Fiji again were the winners over Cook Islands. Samoa took third with hosts Papua New Guinea fourth. [5]

2009 Pacific Mini Games

The 2009 Pacific Mini Games was held in the Cook Islands from 21 September to 2 October. It was the 8th edition of the Pacific Mini Games.

The Oceania Netball Federation is the regional body within the International Federation of Netball Associations that governs netball across Oceania. The current president is Wainikiti Bogidrau. There are currently twenty four countries within the Oceania region. There are seven full members with New Zealand the only one with elite status. Realistically only thirteen nations, predominantly Commonwealth nations, play the game.

1963 South Pacific Games

The 1963 South Pacific Games, held from 29 August to 9 September 1963 at Suva in Fiji, was the first edition of the South Pacific Games. The multisport games were established to engender bonds of friendship amongst peoples in the Pacific, after an idea originated by Dr A.H. Sahu Khan was adopted by the South Pacific Commission. At a meeting of nine Territories, held in Nouméa during March 1961, Fiji was awarded the honour of hosting the first Games.

1991 South Pacific Games

The 1991 South Pacific Games, held from 7–21 September 1991 at Port Moresby and Lae in Papua New Guinea, was the ninth edition of the South Pacific Games. This was the first time that events at one games had been held in two cities. The decision to do so was to allow both locations to benefit from the construction of new facilities.

1985 South Pacific Mini Games

The 1985 South Pacific Mini Games were held at Rarotonga in the Cook Islands from 31 July to 9 August 1985. It was the second edition of the South Pacific Mini Games.

1983 South Pacific Games

The 1983 South Pacific Games, held at Apia in Western Samoa from 5–16 September 1983, was the seventh edition of the South Pacific Games.

1979 South Pacific Games

The 1979 South Pacific Games, held at Suva in Fiji from 28 August to 8 September 1979, was the sixth edition of the South Pacific Games.

Rugby league nines at the 2015 Pacific Games was held from 11–12 July 2015 at Sir John Guise Stadium. Hosts Papua New Guinea won the gold medal, defeating Samoa in the final by 38–10. Tonga took the bronze medal, defeating the Cook Islands by 16-14 in the third place match. PNG's Wartovo Puara Jr was named Player of the Tournament.

Kesaia Tawai was a Fijian female weightlifter, competing in the 63 kg category and representing Fiji at international competitions.

Ulina Tinaiadivila Sagone is a Fijian female weightlifter, competing in the 53 kg category and representing Fiji at international competitions.

Manuarii Hauata is a footballer playing for A.S. Central Sport and the Tahiti national football team.
