Partido por la Libertad (PxL; English: Party for Freedom) is a far-right political party active in Spain, with the exception of Catalonia, where its represented by its sister-party PxC.

History

In 2012, Josep Anglada of PxC announced the launch of the Plataforma por la Libertad (PxL, English: Platform for Freedom), an expansion of the party into the rest of Spain. [4] Anglada and the PxL have protested against the construction of mosques in Spain. [5] Plataforma por la Libertad was refounded in 2013 as the Party for Freedom. [6] [7] PxL run in many municipalities in the local elections of 2015, gaining two town councillors (one in Alfoz de Lloredo [8] and another in Valdeavero [9] ).

Josep Anglada Rius is a Spanish far-right politician from Catalonia. He began his political career in the Spanish nationalist, ultra-Catholic, Francoist-leaning party Fuerza Nueva, effectively assuming the role of Blas Piñar's foremost representative in Catalonia, and is the founder and long-standing president of the party Platform for Catalonia. He was leader of the party till 2014 when he was expelled for "management deficiency".

Fidencio Oviedo Domínguez, known as Fidencio Oviedo, is a Paraguayan footballer currently playing for Fernando de la Mora in the División Intermedia. In 2012, Oviedo was named Paraguayan Footballer of the Year.

Platform for Catalonia was a far-right political party rooted in Catalonia, Spain, which centred its political agenda around controlling immigration and was opposed to Catalan independence. It was strongly anti-Islamic, and was widely considered a racist, xenophobic far-right political force. Its leader was Josep Anglada, town councillor in Vic.

Left Movement of Catalonia is a social-democratic, pro-independence political party in Catalonia. The party was founded in November 2014 from the merger of New Catalan Left (NECat) and Catalonia Movement, which had both been formed by dissident members of the Socialists' Party of Catalonia (PSC) who were dissatisfied with what they saw as the party's lack of support for the independence movement. Its founders included Marina Geli and Ernest Maragall (NECat), but both have ever since left for other parties—Geli joined the Together for Catalonia alliance ahead of the 2017 Catalan regional election, whereas Maragall defected to Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC) in 2018.

Tabarnia is a fictional region within Catalonia, a satirical parody of the Catalan independence movement and a movement against the independence of Catalonia from Spain. The Tabarnia movement mirrors the independentist movement advocating for a referendum to create a new Spanish autonomous community out of coastal urban parts of Catalonia, a region that gathers most of the population of Catalonia and in which, in general, votes for independentist parties rarely reach 50% of the votes. It would encompass the current Catalan comarques of Maresme, Baix Camp, Baix Penedès, Alt Penedès, Garraf, Baix Llobregat, Barcelonès, Vallès Oriental, Vallès Occidental and Tarragonés.

Somatemps is a collective in Catalonia generally considered to be aligned with the far-right of Spain and also of being Spanish nationalist. They state to be committed to defend what they call "the hispanic identity of Catalonia". It was founded between 2011 and November 16, 2013 in Santpedor (Bages), where one of its founders, Josep Ramon Bosch, resides. The organisation is led by Javier Barraycoa. Currently Somatemps has around 300 members. The name of Somatemps was intended as word-play between "Som a temps"—"we are in time" —and the medieval Catalan militias Sometent. Somatemps has contributed to the creation of the association Catalan Civil Society.

Sumar is a left-wing to far-left electoral platform—constituted as an instrumental political party—for the 2023 Spanish general election, led by Spanish second deputy prime minister and labour minister Yolanda Díaz. The platform was provisionally registered as an association on 28 March 2022 and publicly unveiled on 18 May. After a series of nationwide public events from July 2022 to 25 March 2023, the platform presented its manifesto and officially announced Díaz's candidacy for the election on 2 April. On 30 May, after a snap general election was called, the platform registered as a political party under the name Movimiento Sumar in order to form coalitions with other leftist parties.

Liberty Advances is a right-wing to far-right political coalition in Argentina, with a conservative to ultraconservative tendency on social and cultural issues, such as abortion and feminism. while supporting economic liberalism and being right-wing libertarian on economic issues. As an alliance of right-wing parties, its first electoral participation was at the 2021 Argentine legislative election, obtaining the third place with 17% of the votes in the capital. The coalition is led by the economist and national deputy Javier Milei, who is the coalition's candidate for president in the 2023 Argentine general election.
