Pasha Patel is a former member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council. He is from the Bharatiya Janata Party. [1]
Patel began his political career with the Shetkari Sanghatana and was affiliated with the Nationalist Congress Party. [2] [3] Later, during 2001, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and the leader at the time, Gopinath Munde, due to differences with Sharad Joshi. [4] Later he was selected as a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council for Latur.[ citation needed ]

Laxman Sonopant Joshi, popularly known as Anna Joshi, was a former member of the Lok Sabha. He was a member of Bharatiya Janata Party and later Nationalist Congress Party. Uttamrao Laxmanrao Patil alias Nanasaheb was an Indian politician and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was elected to Second Lok Sabha from 1957 to 1962 from Dhulia Lok Sabha Constituency of erstwhile Bombay State as a candidate of Bharatiya Jana Sangh. He was elected to Ninth Lok Sabha from 1989 to 1991 from Erandol Lok Sabha Constituency of Maharashtra as a candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party. He was also a Member of Maharashtra Legislative Council during 1954-55 and from 1966 to 1978. He was the Leader of Opposition of the council from 1966 to 1978. He was also a member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from 1978 to 1980. He was state cabinet minister from 1978 to 1980 in the Progressive Democratic alliance Government of Maharashtra state led by Sharad Pawar. He held revenue portfolio. He was an advocate by profession. Shri Patil authored two books. He was also the founder editor of Sudarshan weekly. He died on 18 November 2001 at Mumbai.

The 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election was held on 21 October 2019 to elect all 288 members of the state's Legislative Assembly. After a 61.4% turnout in the election, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena (SHS) won a majority. Following differences over the government formation, the alliance was dissolved, precipitating a political crisis. Since a council of ministers had not been formed after no party could manage to form the government, President's rule was imposed in the state. On 23 November 2019, Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the Chief Minister and Ajit Pawar was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister. However both of them resigned on 26 November 2019 before the floor test and on 28 November 2019, Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress formed the government under a new alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), with Uddhav Thackeray as the Chief Minister. Subsequently, Uddhav Thackeray had to resign due to the Shiv Sena being split which was led by Eknath Shinde. Eknath Shinde is currently the Chief Minister with a BJP-Shiv Sena alliance with BJP's Devendra Fadnavis as the deputy Chief Minister.
