Paul Ireland (born 1970) is a Scottish actor from Ardrossan, North Ayrshire, Scotland. [1] He is best known for his role as Superintendent Duncan Hayes in Neighbours .

Career

Ireland originally started off as a fishmonger in his father's shop in Greenock, Renfrewshire for five years before deciding to learn acting. [1] In 1995, Ireland acted in the West End of London at the Ambassadors Theatre in a theatrical adaptation of the novel Trainspotting . [2] During its run, the show won the Sunday Times Best New Play award. [3]

During his career, Ireland has acted in numerous British television programmes such as Judge John Deed , Two Thousand Acres of Sky, The Bill [1] and Midsomer Murders . [4] In April 2011, he gained a role in Australian soap opera, Neighbours [5] as Superintendent Duncan Hayes. Ireland was initially cast to play the role for thirteen episodes. Ireland made his debut in Neighbours in Episode 6183. In 2012, he also acted in Australian Broadcasting Corporation comedy, Outland after auditioning and meeting the writers, who told him that they wanted a British actor in the role in the programme. [6] In 2013, Ireland made a return appearance on Neighbours as Duncan Hayes. [7]

In 2006, Ireland appeared in the BBC History online interactive game CDX as MacKinnon, a Mithraist soldier. [8]

In 2016, he co-produced and directed the Australian drama film Pawno .

Since 2018, Ireland appeared in the Australian AFL drama Playing for Keeps as Andrew Macleish, president of the Southern Jets football club. [9]

Personal life

Ireland is married to casting director Thea McLeod, with whom he has one son, actor Finn Ireland. [10] [11] He also has a daughter, Georgia Blue Ireland from his first marriage. [1] After leaving Scotland, he moved to London for thirteen years before leaving the United Kingdom for Australia in 2009, where he currently resides. [12]

Robert Alfred Morley is an Australian actor. He is best known for his role as Bellamy Blake in The CW's The 100. After appearing in various theatre productions and short films, Morley was cast as Drew Curtis in Home and Away in 2006. Morley appeared on It Takes Two in 2007 and following his departure from Home and Away, he joined the cast of The Strip. Jordan Patrick Smith is a Scottish-Australian actor. After appearing in several guest roles, Smith was cast as Andrew Robinson in the Australian soap opera Neighbours. The character's backstory was changed to accommodate Smith's Scottish accent. Smith finished filming on Neighbours in 2012. He has since appeared in the feature film Unbroken, and the historical dramas Banished, Vikings and HBO's horror fantasy drama Lovecraft Country.

Shetland is a British crime drama television series, made by ITV Studios for BBC Scotland and first broadcast on BBC One 10 March 2013. Initially based upon the novels of Ann Cleeves, the series was brought to the screen by David Kane, who has remained a principal writer throughout the series.

Neighbours is a long-running Australian television soap opera created by television executive Reg Watson. It was first broadcast on the Seven Network on 18 March 1985 and currently airs on digital channel Eleven. Since its inception, several spin-offs have been produced, including books, music, DVDs and internet webisodes. Several annuals and books by pulp fiction writer Carl Ruhen were released in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Barry Crocker's version of the theme tune was the first music release from the show, which also has included a Christmas album and the show's love theme. Two potential television spin-offs have reached the pilot stage, while five DVD box sets of Neighbours episodes from the beginning have been released. In 2013, Neighbours launched their first webisode series Steph in Prison. Several other webisode series' has since been released, with the most recent series SheilaTV becoming available from December 2018. Other merchandise includes official video and board games, stationary and clothing.

Felix Mallard is an Australian actor, musician, and model. His career began in 2014, playing Ben Kirk in the Australian television soap opera Neighbours. Mallard moved to the United States in 2018 and starred in the American comedy series Happy Together as Cooper, until its cancellation in 2019. He plays Lucas Caravaggio in the Netflix series Locke & Key, Aiden in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, and Marcus Baker in Ginny & Georgia.

Richard Flood is an Irish actor best known for the character Tommy McConnel in the series Crossing Lines, James McKay in the series Red Rock, Ford in the series Shameless, and is currently playing Dr. Cormac Hayes on Grey's Anatomy.
