Germfree Adolescents is the 1978 debut album of English punk rock band X-Ray Spex. It contained the UK hit singles "The Day the World Turned Dayglo", "Identity" and "Germ Free Adolescents" which reached No. 18 in November 1978. Upon release, the critics noted it was not all new material: five songs on the twelve tracks had already been released on A-sides and B-sides of singles.

The two periods are separated by a stint of interventionist, Keynesian spending during the COVID-19 pandemic.

They are known for their abrasive, minimalist musical style and embittered explorations of austerity-era Britain, culture, and working class life, delivered in Williamson's East Midlands accent. The duo have released several albums to critical praise.

Sleaford Mods: Invisible Britain is a documentary film following the band Sleaford Mods on a tour of the United Kingdom in the run-up to the 2015 general election. The documentary explores the band itself as well as examining the current political situation in the United Kingdom focusing on opposition to austerity. The film was crowdfunded through Indiegogo.

Side Gallery is a photography gallery in Newcastle upon Tyne, run by Amber Film & Photography Collective. It opened in 1977 as Side Gallery and Cinema with a remit to show humanist photography "both by and commissioned by the group along with work it found inspirational". It is the only venue in the UK dedicated to documentary photography. Side Gallery is located at Amber's base in Side, a street in Quayside, Newcastle near the Tyne Bridge.
