Professional career
In 1982, Way turned professional and quickly found success on the European Tour, winning that year's KLM Dutch Open.
For a few years, Way was one of Europe's most promising young golfers, and he represented Europe in the Ryder Cup in 1983, when he became the second youngest Ryder Cup player up to that time after Nick Faldo, and again in 1985, when Europe captured the trophy which had been in American hands for twenty-eight years. He had an outstanding Ryder Cup record of six wins, two losses and one halved match.
Way did not sustain his early success. His last top 100 finish on the Order of Merit was in 1993 and after 1997 he played little tournament golf. He began playing on the European Senior Tour after turning 50 in March 2013.
Alexander Walter Barr Lyle is a Scottish professional golfer. Lyle has won two major championships during his career. Along with Nick Faldo and Ian Woosnam, he became one of Britain's top golfers during the 1980s. He spent 167 weeks in the top-10 of the Official World Golf Ranking from its introduction, in 1986, until 1989. Lyle was inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame in May 2012.
Ronan Patrick Rafferty is a Northern Irish professional golfer who formerly played on the European Tour. He won the European Tour Order of Merit in 1989.
José María Olazábal Manterola is a Spanish professional golfer from the Basque Country, Spain, who has enjoyed success on both the European Tour and the PGA Tour, and has won two major championships, both at The Masters.
Paul Andrew Broadhurst is an English professional golfer. He won six times on the European Tour and played in the 1991 Ryder Cup. Since turning 50, he has had success in senior events, winning the 2016 Senior Open Championship and the 2018 Senior PGA Championship.
Howard Keith Clark is an English professional golfer who played on the European Tour for many years and had his most successful period in the mid-1980s.

Gordon Brand Jnr was a Scottish professional golfer. He played on the European Tour, winning eight times, and later the European Senior Tour, winning twice. He played in the 1979 Walker Cup and played twice in the Ryder Cup, in 1987 and 1989.
Brian William Barnes was a professional golfer. He won nine times on the European Tour between 1972 and 1981 and twice won the Senior British Open.
Kenneth John Brown is a Scottish former professional golfer, who now works as a golf broadcaster and writer. He won the 1987 Southern Open on the PGA Tour and won four times on the European Tour. He played in five Ryder Cup matches between 1977 and 1987.
Peter Arthur Oosterhuis is an English professional golfer and golf broadcaster. Oosterhuis played on the European circuit from 1969 to 1974, winning 10 tournaments and taking the Harry Vardon Trophy for heading the Order of Merit for four consecutive seasons from 1971 to 1974. From 1975 he played on the PGA Tour, winning the Canadian Open in 1981. He was twice runner-up in the Open Championship, in 1974 and 1982. Later he became a golf analyst on TV, initially in Europe and then in the United States. In 2015, Oosterhuis announced that he had Alzheimer's disease.
Stephen James Gallacher is a Scottish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour.
Peter Alan Baker is an English professional golfer. He had three wins on the European Tour, one in 1988 and two in 1993. He represented Europe in the 1993 Ryder Cup.

He had a number of wins in the early part of his professional career including the Piccadilly PGA Close Championship in 1968. He represented Great Britain twice in the Ryder Cup, in 1969 and 1971.
