Arne Nordheim was a Norwegian composer. Nordheim received numerous awards for his compositions, and from 1982 lived in the Norwegian government's honorary residence, Grotten, next to the Royal Palace in Oslo. He was elected an honorary member of the International Society for Contemporary Music in 1997. On 18 August 2006, Arne Nordheim received a doctor honoris causa degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music. He died at the age of 78 and was given a state funeral.
Hildur Alice Nilsson, known by her stage name Alice Babs, was a Swedish singer and actress. She worked in a wide number of genres – Swedish folklore, Elizabethan songs and opera. While she was best known internationally as a jazz singer, Babs also competed as Sweden's first annual competition entrant in the Eurovision Song Contest 1958. In 1972 she was named Sweden's Royal Court Singer, the first non-opera singer as such.

Gyllene Skivan is an annual jazz award given by Orkesterjournalen (OJ), the oldest jazz magazine in Sweden which was established in 1933. OJ established the Gyllene Skivan award in 1954. The Swedish tenor saxophonist, Bernt Rosengren, is the only person to have won the award five times.
"Jag borde förstås vetat bättre" is a single by Swedish pop group Gyllene Tider. Written by the band's lead singer Per Gessle, it was released on February 2, 2005, as the third and final single from Finn 5 fel!, which was the best selling album in Sweden during 2004. The song peaked at number 23 on the Swedish singles chart, becoming the fourteenth single by the band to chart in their home country and became a new entry at number ten on the Svensktoppen before peaking at number seven a week later. The release of the single also saw the album re-enter the charts.
Bjarne Arnulf Nerem, was a Norwegian jazz musician among the foremost soloists in Norwegian jazz. He was in the tradition of Lester Young, Stan Getz. Nerem achieved international recognition for his performances.
Lina Nyberg is a Swedish jazz singer and composer. She has composed works for string quartet, big band, and symphony orchestra. She is married to the Swedish jazz clarinettist and saxophonist Fredrik Ljungkvist.
