Pontardawe Festival is an annual festival of world music and dance which is held every August on the playing fields in Pontardawe, Wales, UK.

The festival is run by volunteers on a not-for-profit basis and has been held every year with one exception since it first started in 1978.

It has received funding in the past from the Arts Council of Wales, but in 2006 the council decided to reduce funding to the festival and ask it to apply for lottery funding instead. [1]

National Lottery Community Fund non-departmental public body

The National Lottery Community Fund, legally named the Big Lottery Fund, is a non-departmental public body responsible for distributing funds raised by the National Lottery for "good causes". Since 2004 it has awarded over £6 billion to more than 130,000 projects in the UK.

The 2012 Summer Olympic development process began in 2005, following the successful London bid for the 2012 Summer Olympics, and ran until the games in 2012. The Ulster Orchestra is a British orchestra based in Belfast, the only full-time professional orchestra in Northern Ireland. The orchestra plays the majority of its concerts in Belfast's Ulster Hall and Waterfront Hall. On 21 January 2019, a Piper PA-46 Malibu light aircraft transporting Argentine football player Emiliano Sala crashed in the English Channel off Alderney, Channel Islands. The aircraft was travelling from Nantes, France, to Cardiff, Wales.
