Prasad Studios and Prasad Film Labs are motion picture post-production studios headquartered in Chennai, India, founded by Prasad Group in 1956. The production house has produced over 150 movies in the Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages. [1]

The group is one of the largest chains of post-production facilities in India with 12 delivery units located in all of the major film production centres of India including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata and has an overseas presence in Singapore, Dubai and United States. It has won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Processing Lab nine times.{[cn}]

History

The gorup is headed by Ramesh Prasad and Sai Prasad, son and grandson respectively of the late L.V. Prasad. It owns one of the major equipment and film facilities in India for feature film and advertising post production. Prasad Group works in feature films, film and video restoration and commercial advertising production.[ citation needed ]

The 2013 Indian Premier League season was the sixth season of the Indian Premier League, established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007. Prasad has served as the president of Film Federation of India during 1988–89. The cinema world honoured him as 'Father of Modern Telugu Cinema' for his contributions to the Telugu film industry. He brought the latest technical equipment to the film-making environment which led to improvement in picture quality, VFX, sound design and more.
