ProCoder is a video-encoding and transcoding software initially developed by the Canopus Corporation, now Thomson SA. [1] [2]

Canopus ProCoder 1.2 was released in 2002, [3] Canopus ProCoder 1.5 in 2003 and Canopus ProCoder 2 in 2004. [4] [5] In 2005 Thomson Multimedia acquired Canopus in order to bolster their Grass Valley broadcasting and network market. [6] [7] As of 2009 ProCoder is offered as a part of Thomson Grass Valley video products under the name Grass Valley ProCoder. [8] Grass Valley ProCoder 3.0 was released in 2007. [9] [10] [11]

Headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, it was formed by the March 2014 merger of the Grass Valley with Miranda Technologies, which were both acquired by Belden in 2014 and 2012, respectively. In February 2018 owners Belden merged Grass Valley with new acquisition Snell Advanced Media. On July 2, 2020, Grass Valley announced the completion of its acquisition by private equity firm, Black Dragon Capital, from Belden Inc.

On2 Technologies, formerly known as The Duck Corporation, was a small publicly traded company, founded in New York City in 1992 and headquartered in Clifton Park, New York, that designed video codec technology. It created a series of video codecs called TrueMotion.

Intuit American financial software company

Intuit Inc. is an American business that specializes in financial software. The company is headquartered in Mountain View, California, and the CEO is Sasan Goodarzi. High-Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding (HE-AAC) is an audio coding format for lossy data compression of digital audio defined as an MPEG-4 Audio profile in ISO/IEC 14496-3. It is an extension of Low Complexity AAC (AAC-LC) optimized for low-bitrate applications such as streaming audio. The usage profile HE-AAC v1 uses spectral band replication (SBR) to enhance the modified discrete cosine transform (MDCT) compression efficiency in the frequency domain. The usage profile HE-AAC v2 couples SBR with Parametric Stereo (PS) to further enhance the compression efficiency of stereo signals.

DaVinci Resolve is a color grading and non-linear video editing (NLE) application for macOS, Windows, and Linux, originally developed by da Vinci Systems, and now developed by Blackmagic Design following its acquisition in 2009. In addition to the commercial version of the software, Blackmagic Design also distributes a free edition, with reduced functionality, simply named DaVinci Resolve.
