Debashree Roy, also known as Debasree Roy, is an Indian actress, dancer, choreographer, politician and animal rights activist. As an actress, she is known for her work in Hindi and Bengali cinema. She has been cited as the reigning queen of Bengali commercial cinema. She acted in more than a hundred films and won over forty awards, including a National Award, three BFJA Awards, five Kalakar Awards and an Anandalok Award. As a dancer, she is known for her stage adaptations of the various forms of Indian folk dances as well as her innovative dance forms imbued with elements from Indian classical, tribal and folk dance. She runs Natraj dance troupe. She is the founder of Debasree Roy Foundation, a non-profit organisation that works for the cause of stray animals. Roy was a Member of the Legislative Assembly from Raidighi constituency since 2011 till 2021.
Jisshu Ujjwal Sengupta is an Indian actor, producer, television presenter. who predominantly works in Bengali, Hindi and Telugu films. Sengupta made his debut through a Bengali TV series, Mahaprabhu where he portrayed the role of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu; the role gained him much recognition. Subsequently, he made his film debut with Priyojon (1997), which became a debacle at the box office. Yuddho is a 2005 Indian action thriller film written and directed by Rabi Kinagi and produced by Shree Venkatesh Films. The screenplay of the film was written by N.K. Salil. The story revolves around a police officer who is charged with false accusation of murdering his wife and imprisoned as he has been investigating a rape case that involves the younger brother of a powerful MLA. The officer then manages to evade the prison and have his revenge. It stars Mithun Chakraborty and Jeet for the first time together, along with Debashree Roy, Koel Mallick, Kaushik Banerjee, Bharat Kaul and Rajatava Dutta.

Sarbojaya is an 2021 Indian Bengali Language Drama television series which is premiered on 9 August 2021 on Bengali general entertainment channel Zee Bangla and it's also available on ZEE5 before it's telecast. The show is produced by Snehasish Chakraborty of Blues Productions and stars Debasree Roy, Kushal Chakraborty and Sanghamitra Talukdar. This show marked the comeback of Debashree Roy in the television industry after 25 years. The show went off air on 14 May 2022 due to low viewership and was replaced by Khelna Bari.
The IFFI Special Jury Award and Special Mention are the two honors presented annually at the International Film Festival of India for excellency in Film Art in World cinema. It was first presented during the 4th IFFI 1969. The award was later re-instated since 29th IFFI 1998. On the occasion of 100 years of Indian cinema, Centenary Awards were conferred during 2012, 2013, and 2014. The Special Mention being awarded since the 46th IFFI 2015.
