Pwales is a settlement in St. Paul's Bay, Malta. The area was named for its marsh land, being a valley, and comes from the Latin word palus that means wetland. [1] It is home to Is-Simar Nature Reserve, a number of farmhouses, and a church. [2] The wetland zone was eventually named P.Wales during the British rule after the Prince of Wales. Oblivious of what P.Wales stood for, the Maltese pronounced the name as Pwales and has been known so, since.

After being decommissioned, she was scuttled off Ċirkewwa as an artificial reef. It is now one of the most popular dive sites in Malta.
Boltenhagen (GS09) was a Kondor I-class minesweeper built in East Germany. After being decommissioned, she was scuttled as a dive site in 2007 off Ċirkewwa.
Wardija Ridge is a scenic plateau, one of a group in the north of Mġarr, Malta, just outside of Wardija. Wardija ridge is part of a series of hills that run on a southwest-northeast axis from the Għajn Tuffieħa area in Mġarr to the Xemxija Bay area in St. Paul's Bay. The Northern ridge edge is interrupted by a series of valley systems which discharge into il-Wied tal-Pwales.

Kristu tal-Baħħara is an underwater statue of Jesus Christ two kilometers off the coast of Malta. It was made by Maltese sculptor Alfred Camilleri Cauchi from concrete covered fiberglass. Cauchi was commissioned to perform this work by a committee of divers led by Raniero Borg to honour the visit of Pope John Paul II to Malta in 1990. The statue is modeled on the bronze Christ of the Abyss at San Fruttuoso, Italy and is one of many copies in locations around the world.

Dellia Battery, also known as Vendôme Battery or Pwales Right Battery, was an artillery battery in Xemxija Bay, limits of St. Paul's Bay, Malta. It was built by the Order of Saint John in 1715 as one of a series of coastal fortifications around the coasts of the Maltese Islands. It was demolished in 1924, but the coats of arms and inscription which were located above the main entrance still exist and are now a monument.
Arrias Battery, also known as Xemxija Battery or Pwales Left Battery, is an artillery battery in Xemxija, limits of St. Paul's Bay, Malta. It was built by the Order of Saint John in 1715–1716 as one of a series of coastal fortifications around the Maltese Islands. The battery still exists, although it has modern alterations, and it is used as a restaurant.
Simar Nature Reserve is a nature reserve in Pwales Valley, in Xemxija, St Paul's Bay, Malta. An artificial wetland habitat was created in the 1990s by BirdLife Malta volunteers in an area of abandoned marshland.
Wardija is a hamlet in St. Paul's Bay, Malta, about 363 feet above sea level. Its name is corrupted from the Sicilian or Italian word guardia, meaning 'to watch'). Although the name of the hamlet has Arabic lexicons, it was probably named later when Maltese, then an Arabic dialect, remained a dominant language. The hamlet is bordered with Bidnija, Buġibba, San Martin and Pwales. Several archeological remains are found in the whereabouts, proving that it was inhabited in pre-history and the Roman period, and it has always been mainly a rural village. From the 16th till the 18th-centuries it saw a shift into a hunting zone with the construction of several hunting lodges and chapels.
