The director-producer Subhash Ghai, the founder of Mukta Arts, was not initially part of the film and was approached when the director duo faced financial problems.

The film has Shivaji Satam, Bhalchandra Kadam, Shivraj Waichal, Rucha Inamdar, Pravin Tarde, Alka Kubal, Sunil Barve, Ashwini Kalsekar, Sankarshan Karhade, Prajakta Hanamgar, Yogini Pofale, Pranit Kulkarni, Tyagraj Khadilkar and Adesh Aawre.
Sher Shivraj is a 2022 Indian Marathi-language historical action drama film directed by Digpal Lanjekar and produced by Chinmay Mandlekar, Digpal Lanjekar, Nitin Keni, Pradyot Pendharkar and Anil Warkhade. The film based on the life of Maratha king, Shivaji where he defeated Afzal Khan with brilliant tactics and courage stars Chinmay Mandlekar in title role, Mrinal Kulkarni, Ajay Purkar, Mukesh Rishi along with Bipin Surve and Rohan Mankani in supporting roles. The film was released theatrically on 22 April 2022.
Maharashtracha Favourite Kon? Award for Favourite Actress is given by Zee Talkies as part of its annual Maharashtracha Favourite Kon? ceremony for Marathi films. The award was first given in 2009 for the films released in the preceding year 2008.
