The Rajasthan Film Festival Award ceremony (also known as the RFF Awards) is a set of awards presented annually to honour both artistic and technical excellence of artistes in Rajasthani cinema as well as in other Regional Cinema of India. The awards were instituted in 2013. The 11th award ceremony was held on 30th September 2023 at Deep Smriti Auditorium. Aftab Shivdasani and Neha Dhupia did the hosting at the award night and Lifetime Achievement Award was given to the Bollywood actor Gulshan Grover. Bollywood Actor Govinda attended the festival as the chief guest.

The theme for the festival was Unity in diversity and 24 awards were awarded in 2 broad categories: for films produced in Rajasthan and for films produced in other regions of India (except Rajasthan). In order to honour people who have been dedicated to the industry, a Lifetime Achievement Award is also presented at the ceremony.

The 10th edition of the RFF award ceremony was held from 22 September 2022 to 24 September 2022 at Maan Place, Jaipur.Tusshar Kapoor and Mahima Chaudhry were the hosts of the evening with Film Critic Komal Nahta and lifetime Achievement Award was given to Actor Sanjay Mishra.

The 9th and 8th edition of Rajasthan Film Festival was not held due to global pandemic of COVID 19.

The 7th edition of the award ceremony was organized for 3 Days (26 September to 28 September, 2019) at Maan Palace, in Jaipur. Shreyas Talpade was the host of the award night. Other prominent celebrities at the ceremony included Shakti Kapoor, Satish Kaushik, Rajesh Puri, Komal Nahta, Aniruddh Dave, Neha Shree, Aniruddh Singh among others. The eighth and ninth edition of the award ceremony were cancelled due to government-imposed covid restrictions.[ citation needed ]

The 2018 event [1] was organized for 5 Days (25 to 29 September 2018 [2] [3] ) at Maan Palace, [4] in Jaipur. Vatsal Seth [5] was the host of the award night and the celebrities [6] Jeetendra Kapoor, Mithoon Sharma, Neelu Vaghela, Gajendra Chauhan, Anirudh Dave and Sara Khan made their presence. In 2017, the ceremony was held at Deep Smriti Auditorium, [7] on 14 to 16 September 2017. [8] [9]

History

The first awards were presented in 2013 at Rajasthan, India. From then onwards, the awards are held at various locations of Jaipur.

Sanjana Sharma is the founder of Rajasthan Film Festival. [10] In its 6th edition (2018), the RRF has organized this event for 5 days. The event was started with theater competition held on 25–27 September. [11] On 28 September, inter college dance competition was organize where several people from Rajasthani Film Industry [12] shared their thoughts about Rajasthan cinema [13] and on the last day of event (29 September), [14] awards were given to the various categories by RFF. [15]

Taawdo the Sunlight is a Rajasthani film released to theaters on 31 March 2017. The film features Preeti Jhangiani, Pradeep Kabra, Omkar Das Manikpuri and Sachin Choudhary and was written and directed by Vijay Suthar. The film was screened at Rajasthan International Film Festival in January 2017 and received three awards including Best Actress for Preeti Jhangiani and Best Music for Lalit Pandit. It was also screened at Masala Chawk in association with JDA and RIFF Club on 15 July 2018.

Rakkhosh is a Hindi-language psychological thriller drama film where the camera is the lead character of the film. It is a first-person POV of a schizophrenic person. The film is an adaptation of a Marathi short story titled "Patient 302", by late Shri Narayan Dharap, who is a well-known writer in Marathi Literature in horror genre.

Dhumkkudiya (2019) is an Indian, Nagpuri film directed by Nandlal Nayak and produced by Dr Sumit Agarwal. The film features Rinkal Kacchap and Pradhuman Nayak in prominent roles. The story of the film is based on true incidents of human trafficking. The film won Outstanding Achievement Award in Culcutta International Cult Film Festival (2019). It has won Best Editing and Best Content awards in Japan Film Festival. It has won Best Feature Film in Hollywood Blood Horror Festival, Los Angeles in 2019 and Best Producer, Best Acting Ensemble, Best Costume, Best Makeup & Hairstyling, Best Trailer and Best Poster Awards in 2020. It has won Best Lead Actress Award in American Golden Picture International Film Festival and in New York Movie Awards 2020 both in USA. The film has won more than 60 awards around the world. The film will be screened in Cannes Film festival of France on 12 July 2021.

<i>Shinaakht</i> Indian short film

Shinaakht is an Indian Hindi-language short film directed, written and produced by Pragyesh Singh under the banner of TNV Films. The film stars Raju Kher, Shishir Sharma, Shakti Singh, Navni Parihar, Arfi Lamba, Stefy Patel, Bikramjeet Kanwarpal and Krishna Bhatt. The film is based on Circumcision which challenges Male genital mutilation (MGM) and Female genital mutilation (FGM) as per Islamic Law.

Shravan Sagar is an Indian film actor. He made his acting debut in the Rajasthani languages film Mharo Biro Hai Ghanshyam. He made his Bollywood debut with the film The Hero - Abhimanyu, in which he played the role of Inspector Abhimanyu. Sagar has received recognition for his contributions to the Rajasthani film industry.

Shankhnaad is a 2019 Rajasthani languages Drama movie produced by CA Anil Yadav under Ru-Aryan Entertainment. The movie was directed by Santosh Kranti Mishra and Stars Kshitij Kumar, Sanjana Sen, Shravan Sagar and Atharv Shrivastava as lead characters.

Raman Gupta is an Indian actor, dancer and singer. He works in Nagpuri albums, Nagpuri films and Khortha film. He also acted in many hindi films. He is known for the Nagpuri film Sun Sajna, Deva Rikshawala and Gangwa. He was awarded best regional actor award in Jharkhand International Film Festival Awards in 2018 and Best Evergreen Actor in Jhollywood Award Show in 2022.

Manikarnika International Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Inaugurated in 2022, The event is organised by Manikarnika Film Festival Trust.
