MTN Group Limited is a South African multinational mobile telecommunications company, operating in many African and Asian countries. Its head office is in Johannesburg. As of December 2020, MTN recorded 280 million subscribers, making it the 7th largest mobile network operator in the world, and the largest in Africa. Active in over 20 countries, one-third of the company's revenue comes from Nigeria, where it holds about 35% market share.
Old Mutual Limited is a pan-African investment, savings, insurance, and banking group. Freedom Phuthuma Nhleko is a South African businessman, formerly chief executive and executive chairman of MTN Group, a South African multinational mobile telecommunications company primarily focused on Africa.
Cipla Quality Chemical Industries Limited (CiplaQCIL) is a pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Uganda. The Simba Group of Companies started in 1998 with the flagship telecom business but has since grown to a conglomerate of East Africa-based companies spanning telecoms, properties, power generation, agro-business, mining, tourism and media. At end 2011 the Group employed over 600 direct staff and - 1500 indirect staff.
MTN Rwanda, whose complete name is MTN Rwandacell Plc, is the largest telecommunications company in Rwanda, with an estimated 6.4 million subscribers, accounting for 62.8 percent market share, as of 31 September 2021.
MTN Uganda is the largest telecom company in Uganda, with 11.2 million subscribers, accounting for 55 percent market share, as of 30 June 2017. By 31 December 2019, its customer base had increased to 12.6 million customers. In March 2021, the Uganda Communications Commission estimated the number of MTN customers in Uganda at 15 million, out of 28.3 million mobile network subscribers, thereby attaining a 53 percent market share.

Sylvia Wairimu Mulinge, is a Kenyan businesswoman and corporate executive. Since 1 October 2022, she serves as the chief executive officer of MTN Uganda, replacing Wim Vanhelleputte, who was promoted to regional executive responsible for operations in Congo-Brazzaville, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea-Conakry and Liberia.

Ms. Cuba initially joined Vodacom Group Limited in 2013 as a non-executive director before joining in an executive capacity in November 2014 and served as its Group Chief Officer of Strategy Mergers & Acquisitions and New Business till her promotion to Chief Executive. She led Vodacom’s mergers and acquisitions as well as its acceleration unit into telco adjacencies such as financial services, etc. Cuba previously served as an Executive Director of Strategy & Business Support at The South African Breweries Limited since February 2012. She was announced as MTN Group's Chief Digital and FinTech officer (incoming) in July 2019.
Anne Juuko, is a Ugandan investment banker and corporate executive, who is the managing director and chief executive officer of Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited, the largest commercial bank in the country, by assets, valued at US$1.6 billion in June 2019. She took up this appointment on 1 March 2020.

Tavaziva Madzinga is a Zimbabwean actuary and corporate executive, who was appointed as the Group Managing Director of Britam Holdings Plc (Britam), a financial services conglomerate headquartered in Nairobi, the Kenyan capital, with subsidiaries in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania, Malawi and Mozambique. His appointment became effective on 1 February 2021.
Anwar Soussa is a Greek businessman and corporate executive, who serves and the managing director and chief executive officer of Safaricom Telecommunications Ethiopia, the Ethiopian subsidiary of the telecommunications and financial multinational Safaricom, based in Nairobi Kenya. Before that, from September 2017 until June 2021, he was the CEO of Vodacom Congo DRC SA, based in Kinshasa and chairman of Vodacash.
Oliver Fortuin is a South African businessman and corporate executive who serves as the Group Chief Executive Officer of SEACOM, since January 2021. Before that, he was the group chief enterprise officer at MTN Group. In his new assignment, he is based at SEACOM's international headquarters in Johannesburg, Gauteng Province, South Africa.

Wim Vanhelleputte is a Belgian engineer, businessman and corporate executive, who was appointed as chief executive officer and managing director of Safaricom Telecommunications Ethiopia Plc., the Ethiopian subsidiary of the telecommunications and financial multinational Safaricom Plc., based in Nairobi Kenya. His appointment was made in June 2023 and he is expected to assume office on 1 September 2023.
