Ramsund is a village in Tjeldsund Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The village is located on the eastern shore of the Ramsundet strait, just south of the Ramsund Bridge. The 0.6-square-kilometre (150-acre) village has a population (2018) of 300 which gives the village a population density of 500 inhabitants per square kilometre (1,300/sq mi). [1]

Ramsund Chapel is located in this village. The main Norwegian Naval base for the north is located south of the village and is the home for the Marinejegerkommandoen unit. [3]

The Ramsund Bridge is a bridge in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It crosses the Ramsundet strait between the village of Ramsund on the mainland and the island of Tjeldøya in Tjeldsund Municipality. The bridge is 240 metres (790 ft) long and the longest span is 36 metres (118 ft). The bridge was built in 1986 to replace a ferry route.

Sandtorg is a village in Harstad Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It is located on the eastern shore of the large island of Hinnøya, on the shore of the Tjeldsundet. The village is located along the European route E10 highway in the southern part of the municipality. There are about 300 residents in the village area. The 1,095-metre (3,593 ft) tall mountain Sætertinden is located northwest of the village of Sandtorg, along the border with Tjeldsund municipality.

Tjeldøya

Tjeldøya (Norwegian) or Dielddasuolu (Northern Sami) is an island in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The 187-square-kilometre (72 sq mi) island is located entirely in Tjeldsund Municipality. North and west of the island lies the Tjeldsundet strait which separates it from the large island of Hinnøya; south of the island is the Ofotfjorden; and east of the island lies the Ramsundet strait which separates it from the mainland of Norway. Tjeldøya is connected to the mainland by the Ramsund Bridge, about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) south of the village of Hol.

Hol is a village in Tjeldsund Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The village is located along the Tjeldsundet strait on the northeastern shore of the island of Tjeldøya. The village lies about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) north of the Ramsund Bridge. Tjeldsund Church is located in this village.

Ramsund Chapel is a chapel of the Church of Norway in Tjeldsund Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It is located in the village of Ramsund. It is an annex chapel in the Tjeldsund parish which is part of the Trondenes prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nord-Hålogaland. The white, wooden chapel was built in a long church style in 1964. The chapel seats about 250 people. The chapel was rebuilt in 1970 after a fire.
