An internet celebrity is an individual who has acquired or developed their fame and notability on the Internet. The growing popularity of social media provides a means for people to reach a large, global audience. Internet celebrities are often found on large online platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, which primarily rely on user-generated content.

Before he became a YouTuber, Rober was an engineer with NASA for nine years, where he spent seven years working on the Curiosity rover at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He later worked for four years at Apple Inc. as a product designer in their Special Projects Group, where he authored patents involving virtual reality in self-driving cars.

The term was first used in the English language in 2006, and subsequently appeared in the 2006 Time Person of the Year issue.

Team Trees is a collaborative fundraiser that raised 20 million U.S. dollars before the start of 2020 to plant 20 million trees. The initiative was started by American YouTubers MrBeast and Mark Rober, and was mostly supported by YouTubers. All donations go to the Arbor Day Foundation, a tree planting organization that pledges to plant one tree for every U.S. dollar donated. The Arbor Day Foundation began planting in January 2020 and plans to end "no later than December 2022". It is estimated that 23 million trees would take up 210 km2 (81 sq mi) of land, absorb around 1.6 million tons of carbon and remove 116 thousand tons of pollutants from the atmosphere.
Larri Merritt, professionally known as Larray, is an American YouTuber and social media influencer. He produces comedic video content on his YouTube channel, and was part of the collaborative TikTok collective known as The Hype House. After initially gaining prominence on Vine, he started uploading videos onto YouTube after the former became defunct.
Chloe Ting is a fitness personality YouTuber based in New York. She is known as the most subscribed fitness content creator on YouTube, and for her workout programs, particularly her "Two Week Shred Challenge" which went viral on TikTok and YouTube during the pandemic in 2020.
Nebula is a video-on-demand streaming service provider. Launched by the Standard Broadcast content management agency in 2019 to complement its creators' other distribution channels, the platform has since accumulated over 650,000 subscribers, making it the largest creator-owned internet streaming platform.
MrBeast Burger is an American virtual restaurant founded and developed by internet personality Jimmy Donaldson (MrBeast), in partnership with Virtual Dining Concepts, LLC. Kai Carlo Cenat III is an American online streamer and YouTuber. He is best known for his live streams and comedy-based content he uploads on YouTube. He is currently the all-time most-subscribed Twitch streamer and the 10th most followed Twitch streamer with approximately nine million followers, surpassing Ludwig Ahgren's record during a February 2023 subathon. He was named "Streamer of the Year" at the 2023 and 2024 Streamer Awards.
Night Inc. is an American digital talent management company founded in 2015 by Reed Duchscher. Through its talent management arm Night Media, the company currently manages digital creators including Kai Cenat, ZHC and Safiya Nygaard. The firm previously managed MrBeast from 2018 to 2024. Since its founding, the company has expanded into venture capital investing, original programming, seed-stage investing, as well as maintaining its original talent management firm, Night Media. Duchscher is the CEO while the president since 2020 is Ezra Cooperstein, an early employee of the now-defunct Fullscreen and the former president of Rooster Teeth.
On August 4, 2023, at approximately 3:30 p.m. EDT, internet personality Kai Cenat held a purported giveaway of gaming-related items in Union Square, Manhattan, while not having a permit for the gathering. The event, which drew thousands of participants to Union Square Park, became a riot. Social media posts of the event surfaced around the same time.
Roberto, better known by his online alias Fanum, is an American streamer and content creator born in New York City, to parents of Dominican descent. Fanum began to emerge online around the years 2016 and 2017. He is known for being the originator of the vernacular "Fanum tax." He won "Breakout Streamer of the Year" at the 13th Streamy Awards and the "Best Role Play Streamer" of the year award at the 2023 Streamer Awards.
Eric Decker, known online as Airrack, is an American YouTube vlogger known for his challenge and prank content, and for gaining a million subscribers in a year. He is also co-founder of Creator Now, an educational program for online content creation.
