Richard J. Campbell (born December 7, 1958) is an American musician best known for his work as a bass guitarist and vocalist for Natalie Cole in the 1980s, and more recently with Three Dog Night, Dave Mason, and America.
Campbell was born in Van Nuys, California, and moved with his family to Paradise, California in 1966, where Campbell began playing piano age 7. He took up trumpet in grammar school, then switched to bass guitar in high school and began performing around northern California with his band "Music Company" which featured Scott Dugdale [1] (original music composer for Astronomy: Observations and Theories) on drums and Steve Williams on keyboards. Later, Glynnis Talken, Campbell's future wife, joined the band for a television telethon performance for KHSL TV in Chico, California.
Richard composed and recorded soundtracks for industrial and educational films for Coronet Films and worked as a tech in several recording studios in Los Angeles. In 1983, Campbell became musical director for CBS Records group "The Pinups" produced by Peter Hauke, co-managed by the Holland-Dozier-Holland Group, and featuring Glynnis Talken, whom he married in September of that year.
Campbell then began touring as bass guitarist and vocalist for Natalie Cole in the mid-1980s including an appearance at the Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute at Wembley Stadium, along with various television and live concert performances, until 1989, when Campbell was hired to tour with rock group Three Dog Night.
Campbell toured with Three Dog Night until 1996, with sporadic performances as bassist and vocalist for the Dave Mason Band and The Edgar Winter Group. After a seven-week stint as a tour manager for the Ringo Starr All Starr Band in 1997, Campbell joined up with Chuck Negron, former lead vocalist with Three Dog Night, and toured and recorded with Negron through the rest of the nineties. Campbell appears on the CD "Chuck Negron Live in Concert",[2] holding down multiple job titles including bass guitar, vocalist and ProTools engineer.
In 2000 Campbell began touring full-time with The Dave Mason Band, contributing bass guitar, vocals, and tour management to the live album "Dave Mason: Live at Sunrise".[3]
In 2003, Campbell was hired to fill the bass guitar and vocalist slot for folk rock group America. Campbell appears with America on the "America Live at the Sydney Opera House" DVD released by Roadshow Entertainment, America Live at the Ventura Theatre[4] and PBS's Soundstage which aired in summer of 2005. Rich Campbell also appears on America's double CD set Here & Now (America album)[5] release on Sony subsidiary Burgundy Records and debuting in the Billboard Top 200 Album chart at #52 in January 2007. Campbell contributed bass guitar, vocals, and art direction to America Live in Concert: Wildwood Springs, and makes a cameo appearance on Jeff Larson's CD "Heart of the Valley" in 2009.[6]
In November 2014, Campbell performed with the band America on Infinity Hall Live Season 04, Episode 01, which first aired on PBS in June 2015. He is credited with vocals, bass, keyboards and tour management.[7] Campbell also appears in America's Live at the London Palladium concert, released in 2019 on America Records.[8]

Three Dog Night is an American rock band formed in 1967, founded by vocalists Chuck Negron, Cory Wells, and Danny Hutton. This lineup was soon augmented by Jimmy Greenspoon (keyboards), Joe Schermie (bass), Michael Allsup (guitar), and Floyd Sneed (drums). The band had 21 Billboard Top 40 hits between 1969 and 1975, with three hitting number one. Three Dog Night recorded many songs written by outside songwriters, and they helped to introduce mainstream audiences to writers such as Randy Newman, Paul Williams, and Hoyt Axton.
Roy Orbison and Friends: A Black and White Night is a 1988 Cinemax television special originally broadcast on January 3, 1988, starring triple Hall of Fame inductee rock/pop singer/songwriter Roy Orbison and backing band TCB Band with special guests including Bruce Springsteen, k.d. lang and others. The special was filmed entirely in black and white. After the broadcast the concert was released on VHS and Laserdisc. A live album was released in 1989.

Glynnis Talken Campbell is an American historical romance author, composer, musician and voice actress, and is married to bass guitarist Richard Campbell. Glynnis Campbell graduated from California State University, Chico with a degree in Vocal Music Performance. Her first novel, My Champion, was nominated for a Romance Writers of America's RITA award for Best First Book and Best Long Historical Romance in 2001. In 2009, her novel Danger's Kiss, received the "Book Buyers Best Award for Historical Romance." She has also written under the pen names Sarah McKerrigan and Kira Morgan.
The Grateful Dead Movie, released in 1977 and directed by Jerry Garcia, is a film that captures live performances from rock band the Grateful Dead during an October 1974 five-night run at Winterland in San Francisco. These concerts marked the beginning of a hiatus, with the October 20, 1974, show billed as "The Last One". The band would return to touring in 1976. The film features the "Wall of Sound" concert sound system that the Dead used for all of 1974. The movie also portrays the burgeoning Deadhead scene. Two albums have been released in conjunction with the film and the concert run: Steal Your Face and The Grateful Dead Movie Soundtrack.
Cross Purposes Live is a boxed set released by the English heavy metal band Black Sabbath in March 1995. The set comprised a live album on CD and a VHS tape of a concert recorded at the Hammersmith Apollo in London on Wednesday 13 April 1994, recorded on the band's tour for their Cross Purposes album. The tour was notable for being the first time The Wizard had been played since early 1971, when Ozzy Osbourne was still lead vocalist. It is Black Sabbath's only live album with singer Tony Martin. The CD was housed within an oversized videotape case but had its own inserts and jewel case.

Frosty's Winter Wonderland is a 1976 animated Christmas television special and a standalone sequel to the 1969 special Frosty the Snowman, produced by Rankin/Bass Productions and animated by Topcraft. It is the second television special featuring the character Frosty the Snowman. It returns writer Romeo Muller, character designer Paul Coker, Jr., music composer Maury Laws and actor Jackie Vernon as the voice of Frosty, while Andy Griffith stars as the narrator with the rest of the cast consisting of Shelley Winters, Dennis Day, and Paul Frees. The special premiered on ABC on December 2, 1976.

Gatchaman (ガッチャマン) is a three-part original video animation (OVA) based on the popular 1970s anime Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. It was released in Japan and the United States during the mid-1990s. This version of Gatchaman is set in the year 2066 where the evil leader of the nation of Hontwall is threatening to take over the planet. Scientists from the International Science Organization are disappearing and only five teenage heroes, the Science Ninja team, can stop the disaster. The OVAs were licensed by Urban Vision through Harmony Gold USA and were released on VHS and DVD. At Anime Boston 2013, Sentai Filmworks had announced that they have rescued the OVA series along with the original 1970s series for a DVD re-release in October. The series was made available for streaming through Crunchyroll.
