Richmond Senior High School is a high school located in Rockingham, North Carolina. Richmond Senior is the only high school located in Richmond County. It is part of the Richmond County School System, and was established in 1972. [3]

Overview

With a strong history in academics, the school has the distinction as a U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. Richmond Senior High School also offers many Advanced Placement (AP) classes such as United States Government and Politics, European History, Chemistry, Psychology, Environmental Science, and English Literature and Composition. In addition to the many Advanced Placement and Honors level courses offered, RSHS maintains a thriving Trade and Industrial Technology curriculum, a few of the courses offered are Firefighter Technology, Horticulture, Drafting, and Automotive Maintenance.

Richmond Senior High School is a one-to-one computing institution. Every student receives an HP Laptop that they are able to keep and use throughout the school year. Students use these devices in class every day and for online homework assignments.

Athletics

The school is highly recognized for its football team, the Richmond Raiders, from which a high proportion of players have played in the NFL compared to schools of similar sizes across the nation.

Golden Tate American football player (born 1988)

Golden Herman Tate III is an American football wide receiver who is a free agent. He played college football at Notre Dame, where he was recognized as an All-American and won the Fred Biletnikoff Award for Outstanding Receiver at any position in 2009. He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He later played for the Detroit Lions, with whom he made a Pro Bowl appearance. He also played a season for the Philadelphia Eagles and two seasons for the New York Giants.

Kyle Van Noy American football player (born 1991)

Kyle Van Noy is an American football linebacker for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). Van Noy played college football at BYU was selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, with whom he spent his first three seasons. He played his next four seasons for the New England Patriots, where he won two Super Bowl titles in Super Bowl LI and Super Bowl LIII. Following a year as a member of the Miami Dolphins, he rejoined New England in 2021.

The Trinity League is a high school athletic conference in Southern California, United States. In 2019 the Trinity League was named by MaxPreps as the toughest high school football league in the United States. It is part of the CIF Southern Section.
