History
The college was formed in 1977 by a merger of the sixth form colleges from Shene School and Thames Valley School with the former Twickenham College of Technology on its site. It was the first tertiary college established in Greater London. [2]
A merger with Richmond Adult & Community College was proposed in 2003 but did not happen. [3] In November 2020, Richmond upon Thames College announced a proposed merger with Harrow College & Uxbridge College (HCUC) that could be completed for autumn 2021 pending confirmation. [4]
An £80 million redevelopment of the 22-acre campus kicked off in 2018. [5] The first phase of the new campus was completed in spring 2020, and further new parts were scheduled to be opened in 2021 and 2022. [4]
A merger with Harrow College & Uxbridge College (HCUC) was confirmed in 2021. [4] The new institution, Harrow, Richmond & Uxbridge Colleges (HRUC), was created on 4 January 2023. [6]
Twickenham is a suburban district in London, England. It is situated on the River Thames 9.9 miles (15.9 km) southwest of Charing Cross. Historically part of Middlesex, it has formed part of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames since 1965, and the borough council's administrative headquarters are located in the area.

Harrow College is a further education college in England with two campuses, in Harrow and Harrow Weald. It was established in 1999 by the merger of two tertiary colleges; in 2017 it legally merged with Uxbridge College, and in 2023 merged with Richmond upon Thames College, forming Harrow, Richmond & Uxbridge Colleges (HRUC).
Barnet and Southgate College is a further education college in North London, England. The current college was established in 2011. It has three main campuses and two other learning centres in the London Borough of Barnet and the London Borough of Enfield, predominantly serving students from these areas. Over 14,000 students are enrolled as of 2018.

Wiltshire College & University Centre is a tertiary college of education founded in 2002 by the merger of Chippenham Technical College, Lackham College and Trowbridge College. Consolidation was completed with the merger of Salisbury College, which commenced in January 2008. In 2020-21 the institution offered over 1,000 courses and had approximately 3,300 full-time and 6,000 part-time students, with over 800 enrolled on degree-level courses.
Uxbridge College is a large general further education college in the London Borough of Hillingdon. In 2017 the college has been merged with Harrow College and in 2023, Richmond upon Thames College became the latest member of the group as they merged to form Harrow, Richmond & Uxbridge College (HRUC), although the colleges retain their individual identities. It has two campuses, in Uxbridge and in Hayes. Harrow College & Uxbridge College (HCUC) jointly had over 7,900 learners as of 2019, the majority of which were on 16-19 study programmes and a majority based at the Uxbridge campus.
Stanmore College is a small college for further education in the London Borough of Harrow. It was established in 1987 as one of the borough's three tertiary colleges, originally called Elm Park College. In 1994 it was renamed to its present name to facilitate closer representation to the local community of Stanmore.
