Roshmitha Harimurthy (born 13 August 1994) is an Indian model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned as Miss Universe India 2016 at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium, Mumbai. [1] As winner of Miss Diva - 2016, she represented India at Miss Universe 2016 in Manila, Philippines. [2]

Early life

Harimurthy was born and raised in Bangalore. She belongs to Kannadiga family. Her sister, Rakshita Harimurthy is also a beauty pageant titleholder. She did her schooling from Sophia High School, Bengaluru and later finished her master's degree in international business from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore.[ citation needed ]

Pageantry

Harimurthy began auditioned for the title Femina Miss India Bangalore, where she was winner and get a direct entry to Femina Miss India 2016 as finalist. [3] On final night, she reached the top 5 finalist and win the special awards "Miss Spectacular Eyes" and "Miss Rampwalk" in the event.[ citation needed ]

Miss Diva - 2016

Still the same year, she participated in Miss Diva - 2016 contest and won the title of Miss Diva Universe 2016 where she was crowned by outgoing titleholder Urvashi Rautela. [1]

She represented India at Miss Universe 2016 which was held at Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines on 29 January 2017 [2] and was unplaced. [4]

The 4th edition of Miss Diva took place in 2016. 16 contestants competed in the pageant. Miss Diva 2016 featured a television reality series which was telecast on Colors Infinity. The 16 contestants, who were mentored by former Femina Miss India Universe 2000 and Miss Universe 2000 Lara Dutta through the series, were based in a "Diva Villa" at Madh Island and judged based on their performances by celebrity judges.

The 5th edition of Miss Diva took place on 11 October 2017. The top 15 contestants selected from all over the country competed in the pageant.

The 6th edition of Miss Diva took place on 31 August 2018. Top 19 contestants selected from all over the country competed in the pageant, who were mentored by Miss Universe 2000, Lara Dutta. At the end of the event, Miss Universe India 2017, Shraddha Shashidhar crowned Nehal Chudasama as her successor. She represented India at the 67th Miss Universe 2018 pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand on 16 December 2018. At the same event, Aditi Hundia was crowned as Miss Diva - Supranational 2018 and Roshni Sheoran was crowned as Runner-up. Miss Universe 2017, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was a member of the jury. Miss Supranational 2017, Jenny Kim also graced the event. This was also the first miss diva pageant in which the finale was telecasted on the same day.
