Prof. Emeritus S. P. Singh was an Indian jurist and educational administrator. He was the head of Faculty of Makerere University, during a Foreign Assignment by Government of India to East Africa. He was Director General of MERI Educational Institutions, [1] Sampla and former Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University, Lucknow. [2] [3] He was founder-Director General, Amity Law School, Noida. He was Professor & Head, Delhi University. He has also served as Director, Research & Studies, Institute of Company Secretaries of India (Govt. of India), New Delhi. His areas of specialization were Taxation, Corporate Law and Law of Tort and written books on the same. [4] [5] [6] [7]

He did his LL.M. from Cornell University United States - U.S.A. on an International Studies Fellowship of Ford Foundation, 1965–66, [8] and his LL.D. from London.

Books

He authored books and gave his aesthetic legal opinion on various aspects of law, Taxation, Corporate Law and Law of Tort. His celebrated works are 'Law and Society' and 'Law of Tort'.

Tort reform refers to changes in the civil justice system in common law countries that aim to reduce the ability of plaintiffs to bring tort litigation or to reduce damages they can receive. Vinay Kumar Pathak is an Indian professor who has served as lecturer, assistant professor at HBTI Kanpur, project scientist at IIT Kanpur and again as professor and dean at HBTI Kanpur before taking over as vice-chancellor UOU on 25 November 2009. After that he has served many universities of Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and UP as Vice Chancellor. He has successfully organized many national and international conferences.

Harpal Singh Cheema is an Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Dirba Assembly constituency located in Sangrur District, Punjab. In March 2022, he became first dalit to be a finance minister of Punjab. He joined the Aam Aadmi Party just before the 2017 Punjab Legislative Assembly election. He contested and won the election from Dirba Assembly constituency against a popular Punjabi Kabbadi player Gulzar Singh Moonak from Shiromani Akali Dal and Ajaib Singh Ratolan from Indian National Congress. In July 2018 he was appointed leader of opposition of Punjab Legislative Assembly.

Vishwa Nath Datta was a distinguished Indian writer, historian and professor emeritus at Kurukshetra University.

The Bhagwant Mann ministry is the State Cabinet of Punjab, India headed by the present Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The oath-taking ceremony of Mann was held at Khatkar Kalan village on 16 March 2022. The 10 cabinet ministers took oath on 19 March.
