Prashanth Thiagarajan, known professionally as Prashanth, is an Indian actor and businessman, known for his works predominantly in Tamil cinema. Besides Tamil films, he has also appeared in few Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam films. At the peak of his career in the late 1990s, Prashanth was one of the popular actors in South India. He has won a Kalaimamani Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu. The son of actor-director Thiagarajan, Prashanth began his career at 17 by appearing in Vaigasi Poranthachu (1990) and went on to feature in other films including Balu Mahendra's Vanna Vanna Pookkal (1992), R. K. Selvamani's Chembaruthi (1992), K. Rushendra Reddy's Tholi Muddhu (1993), and Mani Ratnam's action-comedy Thiruda Thiruda (1993). Prashanth rose to stardom with Shankar's romantic comedy Jeans (1998) in which he played a dual role alongside Aishwarya Rai. The success of this film saw him garner opportunities to work in bigger film projects and in the late 1990s, he featured in a series of breakthrough films such as Kannedhirey Thondrinal (1998), Kaadhal Kavithai (1998), Jodi (1999), Parthen Rasithen (2000) and Piriyadha Varam Vendum (2001).

Central Studios was an Indian film studio in the neighbourhood of Singanallur, Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, started by B.Rangaswamy Naidu and other prominent industrialists like Swamikannu Vincent of Coimbatore in 1935 to make Tamil and other South Indian language movies. Orr Eravuu is a 2010 Tamil independent horror film directed by three debutants, Hari Shankar, Hareesh Narayan and Krishna Sekhar. The film is about Paranormal occurrences. Spirits and ghosts are believed to have a close kinship with the night. Based on this concept Orr Eravuu was made. The entire film was shot from the protagonist's viewpoint, using shaky camerawork, reportedly the first Indian viewpoint film.
Rettaisuzhi is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Thamira. It stars filmmakers K. Balachander and Bharathiraja along with Anjali, Aari Arujunan, Jayachitra, Karunas, Manobala, and Ilavarasu in supporting roles. The film released on 23 April 2010. It marked the last film of K. Balachander before his death in December 2014.

Kappal is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by Karthik G. Krish, a former assistant of Shankar. Produced by I Studios Entertainment, the film stars Vaibhav and Sonam Bajwa, while Karunakaran, Arjunan, Venkat Sundar, Karthik Priyadarshan, VTV Ganesh, and Robo Shankar, appear in supporting roles. The music was composed by Natarajan Sankaran with editing by Anthony and cinematography by Dinesh Krishnan. The film was released by Shankar's S Pictures on 25 December 2014. It was dubbed in Hindi as Main Hoon Dilwala by Goldmines Telefilms Pvt Ltd. The movie had a dubbed Telugu release, titled Pandavullo Okkadu. The movie got mixed to positive response and become a box-office success.
Jithan 2 is a 2016 Indian Tamil language horror comedy film directed by Rahul Paramahamsa and written by Vincent Selva. The film is a sequel to Jithan (2005), and stars Jithan Ramesh and Srushti Dange. The film began production in December 2013 and it released on 8 April 2016 to poor reviews. The film was dubbed and released in Telugu as Pizza 3 in 2018. The film had background score by Yeshwanth Raja. The film received negative reviews from critics.
The Show People is an Indian film production company established by Indian actor Arya. The studio has primarily been involved in the production of Arya's Tamil language films, having worked on films including Boss Engira Bhaskaran (2010) and Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga (2015). Arya has also worked as a producer and distributor through the production studio August Cinema where he has worked with Prithviraj, Shaji Nadesan and Santosh Sivan on Malayalam language films.
