Same is a town in northern Tanzania near the border with Kenya. In 2012, it had 25,794 inhabitants. [2] Nearby there is the Mkomazi National Park. Same is the district capital of Same District.
It is served by a station on the Tanga line of the national railway network. The station has been dormant since the stopping of railway services. However the main road T2 from Dar es Salaam to Arusha passes through the town. There is a bus stop for all major bus companies driving to cities of dar es salaam, Moshi and Arusha. There is also an aerodrome for small planes.
Dar es Salaam is the largest city and financial hub of Tanzania. It is also the capital of Dar es Salaam Region. With a population of over six million people, Dar is the largest city in East Africa and the seventh-largest in Africa. Located on the Swahili coast, Dar es Salaam is an important economic centre and is one of the fastest-growing cities in the world.

The rail network consists of 3,682 kilometres (2,288 mi) of track. Commuter rail service is in Dar es Salaam only. There are 28 airports, with Julius Nyerere International being the largest and the busiest. Ferries connect Mainland Tanzania with the islands of Zanzibar. Several other ferries are active on the countries' rivers and lakes.
Dodoma, officially Dodoma City, is the national capital of Tanzania and the capital of the Dodoma Region, with a population of 765,179. In 1974, the Tanzanian government announced that the capital would be moved from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma for social and economic reasons and to centralise the capital within the country. It became the official capital in 1996. Much of the initial design did not come to fruition for a long time. In May 2023 the national government under President Samia Suluhu unveiled the new State House in Dodoma in a historic event stamping the relocation of government duties to the city. As a result, Dar es Salaam would remain as the commercial and maritime capital of Tanzania with Dodoma retaining the state house Ikulu, and a large number of government functions.
Tanga is the most northerly port city of Tanzania on the west of the Indian Ocean, and the capital of Tanga Region. It had a population of 393,429 in 2022. The city is also home to the Port of Tanga. The name Tanga means "sail" in Swahili.
Mwanza City, also known as Rock City to the residents, is a port city and capital of Mwanza Region on the southern shore of Lake Victoria in north-western Tanzania. With an urban population of 1,311,000 in 2023, it is Tanzania's second largest city, after Dar es Salaam. It is also the second largest city in the Lake Victoria basin after Kampala, Uganda and ahead of Kisumu, Kenya at least in population size. Within the East African community, Mwanza city is the fifth largest city after Dar, Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kampala. It is slightly ahead of Kigali, Kisumu, and Bujumbura in the population of city proper limits. However, in terms of infrastructure, Kigali and Kisumu cities are way ahead of Mwanza. Mwanza city is also the capital city of Mwanza Region, and is administratively divided into two municipal districts within that Region - Ilemela and Nyamagana.
Korogwe is a town in Tanzania, with a population of 62,032 in 2022. It is the main centre of Korogwe District, which is within the Tanga Region.
Same is one of the seven districts of the Kilimanjaro Region of Tanzania. It is bordered to the north by the Mwanga District, to the northeast by Kenya, to the south and southeast by the Korogwe District and Lushoto District of Tanga Region, and to the west by Simanjiro District of Manyara Region. The district capital is the town of Same, Tanzania. The south Pare Mountains are located within the district's boundaries and so is a part of Mkomazi National Park. According to the 2002 Tanzania National Census, the population of the Same District was 212,235. The population had risen to 269,807 according to the 2012 Tanzania National Census.

The National Museum of Tanzania is a consortium of five Tanzanian museums whose purpose is to preserve and show exhibits about the history and natural environment of Tanzania.
