The Samsung Impression [1] (a.k.a. Samsung SGH-A877, SGH-A877, A877) is a slider-style mobile phone manufactured by Samsung Electronics. First announced on March 30, 2009, [2] it was released on April 7, 2009. [3] It was the first phone manufactured for the United States to have an AMOLED touch-screen. [4]

Design

The Samsung Impression SGH-A877 takes on a slider form; featuring a 3.2-inch AMOLED touch screen (240x400 pixels) capable of 256k (256,000) colors. The front of the phone contains the brilliant touch screen, and three bottom buttons; an incoming call accept button, an incoming call reject/hang up button (which doubles as the power button), and a back button. The sides of the phone hold the volume control rocker, the lock button, the quick navigation menu, and the camera button. The top contains the proprietary headset, charger, and USB jack. For text input, the Impression features a backlit full QWERTY slide-out keyboard, a full QWERTY on-screen keyboard, a more common number pad mode, and a handwriting mode designed to use with a stylus. This is one of the quick messaging models available through AT&T.

The LG Versa (VX9600) is a mobile phone for use on the Verizon Wireless network. Like the LG Dare VX-9700, the Versa has a full touch screen and onscreen QWERTY keyboard. The Vers also accepts handwriting recognition or gesture control for entering phone numbers and typing. The phone includes a HTML mobile web web browser, a built-in MP3 music player, access to Verizon Wireless's VCAST multimedia services, and mobile e-mail services. The phone includes a 2.0-mp digital camera with zoom, autofocus, and flash. The phone also had a built-in camcorder. An expandable MicroSD card slot is included into the phone, though no MicroSD card is pre-installed into the device. The Samsung SCH U960 is a CDMA touchscreen side-slider cell phone made by Samsung. The phone features a QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, MP3 Player, GPS, and a 3 MP camera with Geo Tagging. It uses Verizon's EVDO Rev A data network. The Rogue runs Samsung’s TouchWiz UI with a widget bar on the side. Social networking widgets including those from Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Twitter, and Photobucket are widely represented on the widget bar. The Rogue also has widgets for most commonly used applications like calendar, favorite contacts and tools such as Bluetooth and settings. Like other TouchWiz phones, the user can drag widgets to the phone’s today screen and select which widgets populate the widget bar. The phone does not support downloading additional widgets.

The Samsung Wave 533, was launched on October 26, 2010 alongside the Samsung Wave 525. Both hardware and software-wise, the S5330 and Samsung Wave 525 are identical except for the inclusion of a pop-out keyboard on the Samsung Wave 533. The phone initially launched with a price of €150 ($210).
