Samuel Emilus (born October 25, 1997) is a professional Canadian football wide receiver for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Emilus played college football for the UMass Minutemen from 2018 to 2020. [1] [2] He played in 22 games, starting in 13, where he recorded 59 receptions for 653 yards and seven touchdowns, six kick returns for 114 yards, and four punt returns for 57 yards. [2] [3]
As a graduate, he transferred to Louisiana Tech University in 2021 to play for the Bulldogs football team. [2] He played in eight games, starting two, where he had 18 catches for 257 yards and three touchdowns. [2]
Entering the 2022 CFL Draft, Emilus was ranked as the 11th best prospect by the CFL Scouting Bureau. [4] He was then drafted in the first round, seventh overall, by the Saskatchewan Roughriders and signed with the team on May 17, 2022. [3] He began the 2022 season on the injured list, but made his professional debut in week 2, on June 18, 2022, against the Edmonton Elks. [5] In his fifth game, he made his first career start, on July 16, 2022, in the Touchdown Atlantic game against the Toronto Argonauts. [5] He played in 15 regular season games in his rookie year, starting four, where he recorded ten catches for 165 yards, seven punt returns for 52 yards, and one missed field goal return for 33 yards. [6]
Following training camp in 2023, Emilius was an opening day start at wide receiver. [7] In the team's home opener, on June 16, 2023, against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, he scored his first professional touchdown on a five-yard pass from Trevor Harris. [8] He then scored two more touchdowns in the same game, tying a franchise record for most receiving touchdowns in a game with three. [8] He finished the game with seven catches for 77 yards and three touchdowns. [8] In the season finale against the Toronto Argonauts on October 21, 2023, Emilus put up season-high numbers with seven receptions, 137 yards, and a touchdown to finish with 1,097 yards for the season. Emilus was born to parents Anne Rose Emilus and Amel Normill. [2] He has three brothers, Ricardo, Rooldoph and Kenny. [2]
Geroy Simon is the assistant general manager for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is also a former professional Canadian football slotback who played in 15 seasons in the CFL, twelve of them with the BC Lions. Simon won the CFL's Most Outstanding Player Award in 2006 while also winning three Grey Cup championships; with the BC Lions in 2006 and 2011 and with Saskatchewan in 2013. As of the 2013 CFL season, Simon is the all-time career leader in CFL receiving yards with 16,352 yards, second in pass receptions with 1,029 and third in touchdown receptions with 103.
Jarious K. Jackson is a professional Canadian football offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He has also been a coach for the Toronto Argonauts, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and BC Lions. Jackson played professionally in the CFL for eight seasons with the Lions and one year with the Argonauts where he won three Grey Cup championships in 2006, 2011, and 2012. He has also been a member of the Denver Broncos (NFL), to whom he was drafted 214th overall in the 2000 NFL Draft, and the Barcelona Dragons. Jackson played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Adarius Bowman is a former American professional gridiron football wide receiver in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was signed by the Saskatchewan Roughriders as an undrafted free agent in 2008. Bowman has also been a member Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Montreal Alouettes, and Edmonton Eskimos/Elks. He played college football at Oklahoma State. Bowman was a Grey Cup Champion and three time CFL All-Star having accumulated 652 receptions for 9,491 yards and 49 touchdowns in 141 career games.
Markus Howell is the receivers coach for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is a former professional Canadian football wide receiver and kick returner who played for 11 years for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Ottawa Renegades, and Calgary Stampeders. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2000 CFL Draft by the Blue Bombers. He won a Grey Cup championship in 2008. He played college football at Texas Southern.

As Edinboro's starting quarterback, he broke "every career passing record in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference" and was a two-time finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy, awarded each year to the individual selected as the most valuable player in NCAA Division II.
