Sandra Elena Arana Arce (born 31 October 1973) is an American-born actress, model, and television presenter based in Peru.

Biography

Arana was born in Wisconsin, United States, but grew up in Lima. She studied at the Sacred Hearts Sophianum School. After graduating, she studied tourism and hospitality and became involved in acting.

She studied theater with Roberto Ángeles  [ es ]. [1]

In 1999 she appeared in the telenovela Vidas prestadas , [1] with Peruvian actor Bernie Paz and Venezuelan actress Grecia Colmenares.

In 2001 she became well known from the Efraín Aguilar series Mil oficios  [ es ], where she played Giannina Olazo. [2]

In 2004 she made her film debut with Días de Santiago  [ es ]. She also participated in the telenovelas Eva del Edén and Ángel Rebelde from the production company Fonovideo  [ es ].

In 2006 she appeared in seven different chapters for the Telemundo series Decisiones . That same year she played a role in Amores como el nuestro  [ es ]. In 2007 she returned to Peru to star in the miniseries Baila reggaetón, and then as an antagonist on Sabrosas. [3] The following year she participated in El Rostro de Analía on Telemundo.

In 2011 she performed in La Perricholi  [ es ] on América Televisión. [4] In June 2011 she began working as a reporter for the reality show Combate , which she won with the green team. [5]

<i>El Rostro de Analía</i> American TV series or program

El Rostro de Analía is a Spanish-language telenovela produced by the American-based television network Telemundo. It stars Elizabeth Gutiérrez, Martín Karpan, Maritza Rodríguez and Gabriel Porras, with the special appearance of Gaby Espino. Written by Venezuelan writer Humberto "Kiko" Olivieri, the story is loosely based on María, María which starred Alba Roversi and Mexican soap star Arturo Peniche in Venezuela, and was also written by Olivieri. The novela is directed by David Posada and Danny Gaviria; with Jairo Arcila as General Producer and Aurelio Valcárcel Carroll as Executive Producer. Although the novela was set in Los Angeles, Telemundo filmed the serial in Miami, Fl. Through editing it was made to appear as Los Angeles. The network debuted it on October 20, 2008 at the 9 pm timeslot. NBC added English subtitles as closed captions on CC3 starting in March.

Combate is a Peruvian reality show, first adaptation from Combate Ecuador, led by Renzo Schuller and Gian Piero Diaz, which premiered on June 27, 2011, by Andina de Televisión. In its initial stage, it consisted of two teams, "Green" and "Red": they faced to be the champion of the season. In its fifth season, it was formed by four teams called nations, representing the four elements: "Water", "Earth", "Fire" and "Air". The program used an "Iron Throne", a similar object used in the television series Game of Thrones, as the main objective for which they fight, and used the theme of the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender, by using the four elements and their symbols for each team.
