Saqib Ali (born 14 April 1978) is a former Pakistani-born cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team from 2006 to 2015, including in five One Day International (ODI) matches. He captained them to the ICC World Cricket League Division Two title in 2007.

Born in Multan, Saqib emigrated from Pakistan to the UAE in 1997, finding employment with NMC Health. In Pakistan, he had played two Tests and one ODI for the national under-19 team, as well as a single List A match for Rawalpindi A in November 1994 (aged 16). [1] A right-handed middle order batsman, he made his national debut at the 2006 EurAsia Cricket Series, and scored his maiden first-class hundred the following year, against Scotland at Sharjah. [2] He was appointed captain in a match against Bermuda in 2007 and made 142 in his second innings after a duck in the first. [3] His highest score was made in 2008 when he struck 195 out of his team's total of 306 as the UAE went down to Ireland. [4]

Saqib retired from international cricket in August 2015, owing to a series of injuries. [5]

Amjad Ali is a Pakistani-born cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. A left-handed wicket-keeper-batsman, and a right-arm medium pace bowler, he made his One Day International (ODI) debut for the UAE against Bangladesh on 24 June 2008. He previously played first-class cricket for Lahore Blues in Pakistan, and has also played first-class cricket for the UAE in the ICC Intercontinental Cup.

Fahad Afdhal Alhashmi is an Emirati cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler, he has played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team since 2005, and first played One Day International (ODI) cricket in 2008.

Rameez Shahzad is a professional cricketer who has represented the United Arab Emirates national cricket team since 2005. He is a right-handed middle-order batsman. He and his father Shehzad Altaf are the first father-son pair to play for the United Arab Emirates.

Elle Hennadige Shadeep Nadeeja Silva, usually known as Shadeep Silva, is a Sri Lankan-born cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. A left-handed batsman and left-arm orthodox spin bowler, he played one One Day International (ODI) for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team in 2008. Earlier in his career he played first-class and List A cricket for Sebastianites Cricket and Athletic Club in his native Sri Lanka.

Hendahewage Sanjeewa Gayan Sameera Silva, known as Gayan Silva, is a former Sri Lankan-born international cricketer who represented the United Arab Emirates national team. A left-handed batsman and wicket keeper, and very occasional right-arm medium-fast bowler, Silva played club cricket for the local Police Sports Club and particularly Singha Sports Club. He has scored over 3,200 first class runs, but has not yet scored higher than 95, and has also played a handful of one day games, including matches against Scotland.

Ahmed Raza is a cricketer who plays for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. Raza is a right-handed batsman who bowls slow left-arm orthodox.

Shaiman Anwar Butt is a former cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. A powerful right-handed top-order batsman, he made his debut for the United Arab Emirates national side in December 2010, having previously represented Sialkot and Servis Industries in Pakistani domestic tournaments. In March 2021, Shaiman was found guilty of corruption and banned from all cricket for eight years.

Rohan Mustafa is a Pakistani-born cricketer who has played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team since 2007. He is a former national captain, and plays as a left-handed batsman and right-arm off-spin bowler.

Pool B of the 2015 Cricket World Cup took place from 15 February to 15 March 2015. The group consisted of India, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Zimbabwe, West Indies and South Africa. This phase of the tournament was played as a full round-robin amongst all seven teams, with India, South Africa, Pakistan and West Indies advancing to the quarter-finals. India remained unbeaten in this Group.

The 2018 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier was a cricket tournament that took place during March 2018 in Zimbabwe. It formed the final part of the Cricket World Cup qualification process for the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales. The top two teams, Afghanistan national cricket team and the West Indies, qualified for the World Cup, joining the hosts and the seven teams who had already qualified through their ranking in the ICC ODI Championship. Afghanistan won the tournament, beating the West Indies by 7 wickets in the final. Kashif Daud is a Pakistani cricketer who now represents the United Arab Emirates cricket team. In domestic cricket in Pakistan, he played in 33 first-class and 20 List A matches for Sialkot and Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited. In January 2021, he was named in the UAE's One Day International (ODI) squad to play against Ireland. He made his ODI debut for the UAE, against Ireland, on 8 January 2021.

Amir Hayat is a Pakistani-born cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. He made his first-class debut for the United Arab Emirates against Afghanistan in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup on 29 November 2017. He made his List A debut against Nepal in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship on 6 December 2017.

The Australian cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates in March 2019 to play five One Day International (ODI) matches against Pakistan. The fixtures were part of both teams' preparation for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
