Satyadev Pachauri is an Indian politician and the former Minister of Khadi, Village Industries, Sericulture, Textile, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises and Export Promotion in the Government of Uttar Pradesh. He is the current Member of Parliament from Kanpur parliamentary constituency of Uttar Pradesh.

Early life

Pachauri was born on 12 August 1948[ citation needed ] in a traditional Brahmin family of Pandit Pyarelal Pachauri at village Mihona dist. Bhind (M.P). He completed M.Sc. in Chemistry from VSSD College during that time he was elected as The Student President. He started his political career in 1967 with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. In 1991 he was elected to Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly first time from Arya Nagar constituency of Kanpur Nagar district. [1]

Controversy

He was involved in a controversy for publicly ridiculing a female disabled employee when noted disability activist Satendra Singh (doctor) filed the first ever case under the new Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. [2] [3]

Kanpur Metro

Kanpur Metro is a rail-based mass transit system which is under construction for the city of Kanpur, India, and extendable to the Kanpur metropolitan area. The feasibility study for the project was done by RITES in June 2015. The study was prepared to control traffic woes and congestion, which are hampering the growth, development, and prosperity of the city area. Two corridors were approved by the government as per DPR. The tenders were floated for the priority section of corridor-1 between IIT to Motijheel. AFCONS Infra has been awarded the tender. Elevated viaduct work has begun,more than 400 out of 538 pillars have been constructed and all the 439 double-T-girders have been erected for making the base of the 9 stations of piority corridor.The pier caps and U girders are being erected and construction work is going in full swing. The priority section of corridor-1 is expected to be operational from December 2021 which will become the fastest built and commissioned metro system in the world.

Satendra Singh (doctor)

Dr Satendra Singh is a medical doctor at the University College of Medical Sciences and Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital, Delhi. A physiologist by profession, he contracted poliomyelitis at the age of nine months but went on to complete a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College, Kanpur and later on Doctor of Medicine in Physiology. He is the first ever Indian to win the prestigious Henry Viscardi Achievement Awards given to extraordinary leaders in global disability community. He is a noted disability activist especially for his sustained efforts in making public places accessible for disabled persons for which he was conferred National Award by President of India. He is also the first Indian to be awarded the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics fellowship at the University of Chicago. Singh had been involved in the synthesis of epibatidine analogues, leading to the discovery of epiboxidine. In contrast to RTI-336, which positions a 3-tolyl group on the isoxazole ring to the DAT receptor, a phenyl group was too sterically encumbered to be tolerated in the case of the nicotinic receptors.

Satish Mahana is an Indian politician and Member of 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th,15th,16th and 17th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh. Bal Krishna Sharma Naveen

Bal Krishna Sharma, known under the nome de plume Naveen, was an Indian freedom activist, journalist, politician and a poet of Hindi literature. He was a member of the 1st Lok Sabha, representing Kanpur constituency and served the Rajya Sabha as a member from 1957 till his death. He succeeded Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi as the editor of Pratap daily and also served as a member of the Official Languages Commission. His poetry anthologies include Kumkum, Rashmirekha, Apalak, Kwasi, Vinoba Stavan, Urmila and Hum Vishpaee Janam Ke, the last one published posthumously. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1960, for his contributions to literature. India Post issued a commemorative stamp on Sharma in 1989.

Neelima Katiyar is an Indian politician and the Minister of State in the Government of Uttar Pradesh. She was member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
