Secret Hideout is a film and television production company founded in 2014 by Alex Kurtzman. It is notable for the recent incarnations of the Star Trek franchise with Roddenberry Entertainment.
In 2014, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci announced that they would dissolve the partnership in motion pictures in order to focus solely on television. [1]
Later that year, the company signed a three-year production deal with Universal Pictures to produce its feature films. Secret Hideout's first film was The Mummy . They hired Jeb Brody, who was formerly an employee of Focus Features, and Bobby Cohen, who was a former K/O Paper Products staffer, to join the company, along with Kim Rosen, who served as head of digital and interactive. In 2016, it was announced that Roberto Orci was not attached to CBS All Access' revival of Star Trek: Discovery and that Kurtzman had signed a new deal with CBS Television Studios to produce Discovery along with Salvation . They hired former K/O staffers Heather Kadin and Aaron Baiers to join the company to manage its TV shows. [3]
In 2018, they signed a new deal with CBS Television Studios to expand the Star Trek franchise with new incarnations. [4]
In 2019, Robyn Johnson was hired as a development executive for Secret Hideout. [5]
In 2021, Kurtzman and Secret Hideout extended their overall deal with CBS Studios through 2026. [6] Baiers was also promoted to President of Television in late 2021, following Kadin's departure from the company. [7] [8]

He is best known for his work on the Star Trek franchise since 2009, co-writing the scripts to Transformers (2007), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Star Trek (2009), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) with his writing and producing partner Roberto Orci, and directing and co-writing The Mummy (2017). He made his directorial debut with People Like Us (2012), co-written by him, Orci, and Jody Lambert from a story by him.
Roberto Gaston Orcí is a Mexican-American film and television screenwriter and producer. He began his longtime collaboration with Alex Kurtzman while at school in California. Together they have been employed on television series such as Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess. In 2008, together with J. J. Abrams, they created Fringe. In 2013, they created Sleepy Hollow alongside Phillip Iscove. Orci and Kurtzman's first film project was Michael Bay's The Island, and due to that partnership they went on to write the scripts for the first two films of the Transformers film series. Orci first became a film producer with 2008's Eagle Eye and again with 2009's The Proposal.
