The Security State Bank, on Garfield St. in Willow Lake, South Dakota, was built in 1909. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. [1]

It is a two-story brick commercial building with a flat roof. [2]

It was deemed significant architecturally as "a representative example of an early 20th century commercial building." It was also deemed important "for its contribution to commerce and economic development in Willow Lake, South Dakota. Willow Lake is a rural community whose primary source of economic activity is agricultural. Rural banks of this type were critical for the economic stability of this community and conservatism." [2]

The Missouri National Recreational River is a National Recreational River located on the border between Nebraska and South Dakota. The designation was first applied in 1978 to a 59-mile section of the Missouri River between Gavins Point Dam and Ponca State Park. In 1991, an additional 39-mile section between Fort Randall Dam and Niobrara, Nebraska, was added to the designation. Constructed for the First Security Corporation, the building was the first skyscraper built in Salt Lake City after the Great Depression. It was rehabilitated in 2004.
