Shakmagia (Jewelry Box in English) is an Egyptian comic book. [1] [2] The title can be translated as "the Jewelry Box", and is considered a burgeoning example of free expression in Egypt. [3]

He studied marketing at Cairo University, and has worked as a scriptwriter on quiz shows and for the cinema, and as a writer of satirical stories for young people and a book designer. He wrote a political comic strip, and poems for an Egyptian opposition weekly newspaper al-Dostour, الدستور المصرية (in Arabic). Alaidy has participated in international writers’ programs at Iowa University and at Hong Kong Baptist University. He has previously published a long short story.

Ahmed Abd El-Zaher is an Egyptian footballer who currently plays for the Egyptian Premier League side Aswan SC. He was also part of the Egypt U-20 National Football team that participated in the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship.

Human rights in Egypt under the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces

Human rights in the post-Mubarak transition have been the subject of concern and controversy since the 2011 Egyptian revolution. The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) Arabic: المجلس الأعلى للقوات المسلحة‎, al-Maǧlis al-ʾAʿlā lil-Quwwāt al-Musallaḥah in particular have been the focus of concerns about human rights violations. The SCAF, which consists of a body of 20 senior officers in the Egyptian military, was handed the power to govern Egypt after the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak on 11 February 2011 as a consequence of the revolution.

Ahmad Nady Egyptian political cartoonist, comic artist and activist

Ahmad Mohammad Nady is an Egyptian political cartoonist, comic artist and activist. Belonging to a family of artists, Nady began his career early on, steadily rising to become one of the best known comic artists in Egypt at a young age. He has drawn political cartoons since an early age, and since the Egyptian Revolution of 2011, has become increasingly active in this area of work, garnering a significant reputation for the boldness of his work.

El Teneen is the pseudonym of an anonymous 29-year-old Egyptian street artist and graffiti artist whose work has gained popularity and notoriety in Egypt following the 2011 Egyptian Revolution. El Teneen originally formed one half of the pair "Team El Teneen", or "Dragon Team"; however, the artist now works primarily independently. His works of art have been described as "icons of the 25 January revolution."

El Tahrir is a privately owned Classical Arabic 18-page daily published in Egypt. It was named after the Egyptian Tahrir Square which has been witnessing demonstrations. The daily was the second publication launched after "the revolution".
