The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) at Edith Cowan University (ECU) was established in 1980 to provide performing arts tuition. WAAPA operates as a part of ECU, located at the ECU campus in Mount Lawley, a suburb in Perth, Western Australia.

Gemma Pranita is a Thai-born Australian actress. Pranita formed a theatre company called Cry Havoc! with her best friend in 2006. After graduating from WAAPA, Pranita joined the Bell Shakespeare theatre company. She has also had roles in the films, Crush and Resistance. From 2010 until 2012, Pranita played Jade Mitchell in the Australian soap opera Neighbours. She briefly reprised the role in March 2019. Our Girl is a British military drama television series, written and created by Tony Grounds, first broadcast on BBC One on 24 March 2013. The series initially starred Lacey Turner as Molly Dawes, a young working-class woman, who joins the British Army after deciding her life is going down the drain. Following the feature-length pilot episode, a full series of five episodes was commissioned, commencing broadcast on 21 September 2014.

Doctor Doctor is an Australian television drama created by Tony McNamara, Ian Collie and Alan Harris, which premiered on the Nine Network on 14 September 2016, lasting five seasons, concluding on 23 June 2021. The cast includes Rodger Corser, Nicole da Silva, Ryan Johnson, Tina Bursill, Hayley McElhinney and Steve Bisley, and follows the story of Hugh Knight, a rising heart surgeon who is gifted, charming and infallible. He is a hedonist who, due to his sheer talent, believes he can live outside the rules. His "work hard, play harder" philosophy eventually comes to 'bite' him. The series was originally produced by Essential Media & Entertainment and Easy Tiger Productions in association with Screen NSW. Andy Ryan and Jo Rooney served as executive producers.
Anna Bamford is an Australian television and theatre actress. She won the role of Miranda Beaumont in Wonderland shortly after graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2012. For her performance, Bamford earned a nomination for the Logie Award for Most Outstanding Newcomer. After Wonderland was cancelled in 2015, Bamford made her major theatre debut in a production of Freak Winds. Later that year, she began appearing in Andrew Upton's production of The Present, which later transferred to Broadway. In 2016, Bamford joined the cast of Home and Away in the recurring role of Jeannie Woods.
Harry Richardson is an Australian actor. After studying at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, he has starred in the television period series Doctor Thorne (2016), Poldark (2017–2019), and The Gilded Age (2022–present).
