Shiv Aroor is an Indian journalist and writer. He is an editor and anchor at India Today . He is also a defence correspondent, having done conflict reporting from defence zones such as Kashmir, Sri Lanka and Libya. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] He also runs a defence website called livefistdefence.com which he founded in 2007, which was a winner in the 2012 and 2013 DefenceIQ Blogging Awards in the category Regional Defence blog. [6] [7] He is a post-graduate in international journalism from Cardiff University and a graduate from St Stephen's College, Delhi. [6] [8] He wrote the fictional book, Operation Jinnah, in 2017. [6] In 2018 he co-authored India's Most Fearless and then the sequel in 2019. The first part sold over 40,000 copies. [9]

India's Most Fearless 3, co-authored with Rahul Singh was released in August 2022. This book was launched by the three service chiefs- Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Admiral R Hari Kumar and General Manoj Pande at an event in New Delhi on 17 January 2023. [10] [11] One of the chapters from the book about the Galwan battle of 2020 has been acquired to be made into a film by Apoorva Lakhia. [12]

He is the great-grandson of popular Kannada poet and scholar, Sri Panje Mangesh Rao. [13]

Major Jaswant Singh was an officer of the Indian Army and an Indian Cabinet Minister. Lieutenant General Yogesh Kumar Joshi, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VrC, SM, ADC is a retired General Officer of the Indian Army. He was the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Northern Command, assuming office from Lt Gen Ranbir Singh on 1 February 2020. He last served as the Chief of staff of the Northern Command, assuming the office from Lt Gen SK Sharma. Previously, he was the commander of Leh based Fire & Fury Corps. As Army Commander he is credited with spearheading the Indian response to PLA's attempt to alter the status quo on Line of Actual Control (LAC) by use of force. Haseena Parkar is a 2017 Indian biographical crime film directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Nahid Khan. The principal signing of the film began in February 2016 and the shooting started on 11 October 2016. The film is based on Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parkar. The film marks Shraddha Kapoor's first title role. Kapoor's brother, Siddhanth Kapoor, portrays the role of Dawood Ibrahim, and Ankur Bhatia plays the role of Haseena's husband.

Beginning on 5 May 2020, Chinese and Indian troops engaged in aggressive melee, face-offs, and skirmishes at locations along the Sino-Indian border, including near the disputed Pangong Lake in Ladakh and the Tibet Autonomous Region, and near the border between Sikkim and the Tibet Autonomous Region. Additional clashes also took place at locations in eastern Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

<i>Avrodh: The Siege Within</i> Indian military drama web-television series

Avrodh: The Siege Within is an Indian Hindi-language military drama streaming television series which premiered on SonyLIV on 31 July 2020. The series, directed by Raj Acharya and produced by Applause Entertainment, Irada Entertainment and Mehra Entertainment, is a retelling of the 2016 Uri attack and the alleged strike by Indian forces across the Line of Control. It is based on a chapter from the book India’s Most Fearless by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. A standalone sequel, titled Avrodh: The Siege Within 2, was released in June 2022.

In early May 2020, troops of the People's Liberation Army and Indian Army engaged in melee at locations along the notional Line of Actual Control (LAC), the disputed boundary between China and India. It escalated on 15/16 June 2020 resulting in deaths on both sides. Indian sources reported the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers and casualties of at least 45 Chinese soldiers. China reported 4 deaths. On 7 September, for the first time in 45 years, shots were fired along the LAC, with both sides blaming each other for the firing. Indian media also reported that Indian troops fired warning shots at the PLA on 30 August.

Major David Manlun, KC was an Indian Army Officer who was posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra, India's second highest peace-time military decoration. He was from the First Battalion The Naga Regiment.

<i>Avrodh: The Siege Within 2</i> 2022 Indian TV series

Avrodh: The Siege Within 2 is an Indian Hindi-language military drama espionage streaming television series which premiered on SonyLIV on 24 June 2022. It was directed by Raj Acharya, and stars Abir Chatterjee in the lead role. The series is a standalone sequel to Avrodh: The Siege Within. It is based on operations conducted by the Indian Army to stop terrorist attacks and spread of fake notes, eventually leading to the implementation of demonetisation. The series is a fictionalised retelling of the chapter, ‘Just tell me when to begin Sir’, from the book India’s Most Fearless 2, written by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh.
