Sierra Brooks (born September 29, 2001) is an American artistic gymnast. She currently competes for the Michigan Wolverines women's gymnastics team, and is a six-time All-American.
Brooks was born in Hinsdale, Illinois to David and Shannon Brooks. Her father, David, played college baseball at Eastern Illinois, while her mother, Shannon, was a member of the Bradley University dance team. She attended Oswego East High School in Oswego, Illinois, and was a five-time Illinois state champion, and a two-time Region 5 All-Star team member. [1]
Brooks was a four-time Junior Olympics national team member. At the 2016 Junior Olympic Nationals she placed second on vault and tied for second in the all-around. At the 2017 Women's Junior Olympic National Championships, she placed second on the vault, tied for second on the balance beam, and third in the all-around. At the 2018 Women's Junior Olympic National Championships, she placed second on the vault and third in the all-around. At the 2019 Women's Junior Olympic National Championships, she won vault, beam, floor and the all-around. [2] [3]
On May 1, 2019, Brooks signed her national letter of intent to attend the University of Michigan. [2] In the fall of 2020, Brooks joined the Michigan Wolverines women's gymnastics team. During her freshman year she won 11 event and all-around titles, including two on vault, two on bars, two on balance beam, two on floor and three in the all-around. She finished the regular season ranked second in the conference in the all-around, third on vault, tied for fifth on uneven bars and floor exercise, and eighth on balance beam. She ranked among the top 50 nationally on vault (T-15th), bars (T-32nd), beam (35th), floor (T-37th) and the all-around (11th). She was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week seven times. [1] Following the season she was named the WCGA Northeast Regional Gymnast of the Year and the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. [4] [5]
During her sophomore year in 2021, she won 13 event titles, including six vault, one uneven bars, two beam and four all-around. She finished the regular season ranked fifth on the vault and 15th in the all-around, while also ranking 22nd on bars and 31st on beam. [1] During the 2021 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship she recorded the highest all-around scored in Michigan NCAA Championship history with a career-best 39.7750. She won a silver medal in the balance beam and individual all-around to help Michigan win their first NCAA Championship in program history, with a program best score of 198.2500. [6] [7] Following the season she was named a four-time WCGA All-American (all-around, uneven bars, balance beam, floor). [8]
On August 31, 2021, Brooks was named a captain for the 2022 season. [9] During her junior year in 2022, she won 15 individual event and all-around titles, including five on vault, two on uneven bars, two on beam, three on floor and three in the all-around. She finished the regular season ranked third nationally in the all-around, while ranking fourth on the vault and seventh on the floor. On February 26, 2022, she recorded her first career perfect 10.0 on the vault. [10] [11] During the 2022 Big Ten Championships she posted her second career 10.0, winning the individual vault title, and helping Michigan win the Big Ten Championship. [12] [13] During the 2022 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship she won a silver medal in the uneven bars. Following the season she was named a two-time WCGA All-American (vault, uneven bars), the WCGA Northeast Regional Gymnast of the Year and Big Ten Gymnast of the Year. [14] [15]
During her senior year in 2023 Brooks earned 16 event titles including four all-around titles, and was a three-time Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honoree. She became the 13th Wolverine in program history to earn first team all-conference honors on four occasions. [16] She became the first Michigan gymnast to be named a three-time Regional Gymnast of the Year. Following the season she was named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Year for the second consecutive year. She became the third Michigan gymnast to earn the honor twice or more, following Beth Wymer and Sarah Cain. [17] She was also awarded the AAI Award. [18]
During her graduate year on January 12, 2024 Brooks broke Michigan's all-around record with a 39.850, surpassing the previous record of 39.825 held by Natalie Wojcik, Elise Ray, Sarah Cain and Beth Wymer. She scored a perfect 10.0 on floor, a 9.975 on vault and beam and a 9.900 on uneven bars. [19]

Mary Elise Ray is an American gymnast who represented the United States at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and the 1999 World Championships. She was the head gymnastics coach at the University of Washington from 2016 to 2020.
Samantha Nicole Peszek is an American former artistic gymnast. She was a member of the U.S. women's gymnastics team at the 2008 Summer Olympics, which won silver.
Beverly Jean Plocki is an American gymnastics coach, and the current coach of the Michigan Wolverines women's gymnastics team. In 32 years as the head coach at Michigan, her teams have a record of 830–263–4 and have won 25 Big Ten Conference championships, and advanced to 25 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships, including 16 straight NCAA championship tournaments from 1993 to 2008. Plocki led her team to the NCAA Championship in 2021, the first championship won by a Big Ten Conference team.
Beth Wymer is a former NCAA champion gymnast. While attending the University of Michigan, she won the NCAA event championship in the uneven bars three consecutive years from 1993 to 1995 and was a first-team All-American four times in the uneven bars, twice in the all-around, and once in the balance beam. In 1995, Wymer was named Big Ten Athlete of the Year. She was inducted into the University of Michigan Athletic Hall of Honor in 2006.
The Florida Gators women's gymnastics team represents the University of Florida in the sport of gymnastics. The team competes in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Gators host their home matches in the O'Connell Center on the university's Gainesville, Florida campus, and are currently led by head coach Jenny Rowland. The Gators women's gymnastics program has won nine SEC championships, and four national championships: the 1982 AIAW national tournament and the 2013, 2014, and 2015 NCAA championships.

Quazi Syque Caesar is a former artistic gymnast and current coach. He represented Bangladesh at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and was a captain of the Michigan Wolverines men's gymnastics team. He was an assistant coach for the Stanford Cardinal men's gymnastics team for over six years, was the head coach for the men's gymnastics athlete resident program at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center until its dissolution in 2022, and is currently coaching at EVO Gymnastics.
The Michigan Wolverines men's gymnastics team represents the University of Michigan and competes in the Big Ten Conference. The Wolverines have won seven NCAA championships, 20 Big Ten championships and have been invited to 31 NCAA tournaments. Since 1999, Michigan has finished in the Super Six at the NCAA tournament in 11 of 12 seasons. In 2013, Michigan won its fifth NCAA men's gymnastics team championship. The following year, Michigan repeated as National Champions for its sixth NCAA men's gymnastics team championship.

Maile O'Keefe is an American artistic gymnast. She was a member of the U.S. National Team and is the 2016 and 2017 U.S. Junior National Champion. She is the 2023 NCAA all-around champion as well as a 4x NCAA event champion.
Zavier Marquis Simpson is an American professional basketball player for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines. He briefly played for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association.
Natalie Wojcik is a former American artistic gymnast. She competed for the Michigan Wolverines women's gymnastics team, and is a seven-time All-American.
Anastasia Maria Webb is a former American artistic gymnast. She competed for the Oklahoma Sooners women's gymnastics team. In 2021, she became the NCAA All Around Champion and tied for the floor and vault titles, to go along with OU's team championship from 2019.
The 2021 Michigan Wolverines women's gymnastics team represented the University of Michigan in the 2021 NCAA Division I women's gymnastics season as members of the Big Ten Conference in their 46th season of collegiate competition. The Wolverines were led by head coach Bev Plocki in her thirty-second season, and played their home meets at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Joanna Sampson is a former American artistic gymnast. She competed for the Michigan Wolverines women's gymnastics team. Sampson was the first gymnast in Michigan program history to score a perfect 10.0 on floor exercise in any postseason competition in 2014.
Paul Wojciech Juda is an American artistic gymnast. He was a member of the bronze medal winning team at the 2023 World Championships. He is currently competing for the Michigan Wolverines in NCAA gymnastics and is a member of the U.S. men's national team.
The 2021 Michigan Wolverines women's soccer team represented the University of Michigan during the 2021 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. It was the 28th season the university fielded a women's varsity soccer team, and their 28th season in the Big Ten Conference. The team was coached by fourth year head coach Jennifer Klein. Michigan won the 2021 Big Ten Women's Soccer Tournament for the first time since 1999.
