Silk Road Group is a privately held investment company, owned and run by Georgian and European partners. [1]

History

"Silk Road Group" was founded in 1997 by George Ramishvili. The company owns Silknet, the largest fixed-line, cable TV, broadband, and IPTV provider in Georgia [2] along with GeoCell the Georgian mobile phone network. [1]

The company is a force behind the restoration of the winery and palace at Tsinandali [3] and the launch of a classical music festival there. [4]

Silk Road was an online black market and the first modern darknet market. As part of the dark web, it was operated as a Tor hidden service, such that online users were able to browse it anonymously and securely without potential traffic monitoring. The website was launched in February 2011; development had begun six months prior. Initially there were a limited number of new seller accounts available; new sellers had to purchase an account in an auction. Later, a fixed fee was charged for each new seller account. Silk Road provided goods and services to over 100,000 buyers.

Tsinandali Park

The Tsinandali Park or Aleksandre Chavchavadze complex, is an architectural and historical monument at the village of Tsinandali in the municipality of Telavi about 80 km from Tbilisi, Georgia. The Alexandre Chavchavadze complex was approved by the decree of the President of Georgia in 2006, under the category of Immovable Cultural Monuments of National Importance of Georgia.
