James Sclavunos is an American drummer, multi-instrumentalist musician, record producer and writer. He is best known as a drummer, having been a member of two seminal no wave groups in the late 1970s. He is also noted for stints in Sonic Youth and the Cramps, and has been a member of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds since 1994. Sclavunos has led his own group the Vanity Set since 2000.

The label released debut singles for many Manchester bands, including Elbow, the Man From Delmonte and I Am Kloot. Ugly Man Records was set up in Bootle, Merseyside in 1986 with the release of "Wonderful Life" by the Liverpool-based band, Black. This debut release reached number 72 in the UK Singles Chart.

I Am Kloot were an English rock band, formed in Manchester in 1999. The band was composed of vocalist/guitarist John Bramwell, bassist Peter Jobson and drummer Andy Hargreaves.

Gods and Monsters is the third album by English rock band I Am Kloot which was released on April 11, 2005. It reached #74 in the UK. The semi-autobiographical lead single from this album "Over My Shoulder", about relationships ending, was featured occasionally on MTV. Lead singer Bramwell refers to the "Night and Day" club in Manchester where he used to work and where I Am Kloot got their first break. The track "Avenue of Hope" featured in the closing credits of the Danny Boyle film Sunshine in 2007. The cover art is by poster artist Jay Ryan.
