Smithdom is a tribute band who play the music of The Smiths from 1983 to 1987. The band is from Manchester, England.
Smithdom was formed in February 2009, but only found a singer in June of that year after an appeal in the Manchester Evening News and City Life . [1] Their first gig was in October 2009 in Bolton and they were well received. [2] They have attracted a lot of interest since and have been interviewed along with other Smiths tribute bands for the Los Angeles-based Covers magazine. [3] The band took their name from one of the proposed names that Morrissey had suggested before deciding on The Smiths. The musicians have played in bands in the North West of England for several years and have played with and supported Badly Drawn Boy and John Cooper Clarke.
They play the music of The Smiths from 1983 to 1987, and aim to create the live sound of The Smiths final tour in 1986, which can be heard on their posthumous live album Rank . Recently the name of the band was changed to The Smiths Ltd.

Cardiacs are an English rock band formed in Kingston upon Thames by Tim Smith and his brother Jim in 1977 under the name Cardiac Arrest. The band's sound fused circus, baroque pop and medieval music with progressive rock and post-punk, adding other elements like nursery rhymes and sea shanties. Howard Devoto is a retired English singer and songwriter, who began his career as the frontman for punk rock band Buzzcocks, but then left to form Magazine, one of the first post-punk bands. After Magazine, he went solo and later formed indie band Luxuria.
Bruce Howard Kulick is an American guitarist and since 2000 a member of the rock band Grand Funk Railroad. Previously, Kulick was a member of the band Kiss (1984–1996). He was also a member of Union with John Corabi from 1997–2002 and Blackjack from 1979–1980.

The Smiths Indeed are a tribute band dedicated to The Smiths. The band are from Liverpool in the North West of England. Morrissey Indeed and The Smiths Presumably are a continuation of The Smiths Indeed and are based in Antwerp, Belgium.
Courteeners are an English band formed in Middleton in 2006 by Liam Fray, Michael Campbell, Daniel "Conan" Moores and Mark Cuppello (bass); the latter was replaced by the band's producer Joe Cross in 2015. They previously toured with pianist Adam Payne, who has been featured on every album, but in 2019 was replaced with Elina Lin. In December 2012, the band dropped "The" from their name, continuing simply as "Courteeners".
