Society is a monthly English-language lifestyle and celebrity magazine published in India. [1] It was founded in 1971 by Nari Hira, and is published by Magna Publishing Co. Ltd. in Mumbai. [1] As of 2018, it is edited by Sapna Sarfare. [2] [3]

Society describes itself as "India's leading people and lifestyle magazine," [1] which "has always been the front runner in reporting about the lives of the rich and famous," [4] and covering "the latest news, controversy or achievements of people in the area of business, politics, art, sports, media or spicy details on socialites." [5]

In Pop Culture India!, author Asha Kasbekar describes Society as part of a new wave of 1970s lifestyle magazines, along with Debonair , Gentleman, Inside Outside, Interior, Savvy, and Women's Era . [6]

The magazine also conducts awards to honour achievers in various fields including Society Achievers Award, Society Global Indian Icon Award and Society Pride of India Honour. [7] [8] [9]

Her best known songs were with producers Anu Malik and Biddu during the 1990s. Her best known song is Made in India.

Sombhu Mitra was an Indian film and stage actor, director, playwright, reciter and an Indian theatre personality, known especially for his involvement in Bengali theatre, where he is considered a pioneer. <i>Made in India</i> (album) 1995 studio album by Alisha Chinai

Made in India is an Indi-pop album by Alisha Chinai, with production by Biddu, released in 1995. It was the first album by an Indian pop (Indipop) artist to be sold on a scale comparable to Hindi film music albums, with over five million copies sold in India. The album established Indipop as a discrete genre and its singer Chinai became the genre's main proponent.

Balakrishna Vishwanath Keskar was an Indian politician and Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting between 1952 and 1962. Remembered for creating the Vrinda Vadya and promoting classical music through All India Radio, Keskar, who was India's longest serving Minister for Information and Broadcasting, was also responsible for banning Hindi film music, cricket commentaries and the harmonium on All India Radio.

Dame Asha Khemka is a former British educator who resigned as Principal and CEO from West Nottinghamshire College in late 2018 when the college experienced financial difficulties. She joined the college in 2006, succeeding Di McEvoy-Robinson. Prior to her resignation in October 2018 she was one of the highest paid in the sector.
