Solid Rock is a compilation by The Rolling Stones released in 1980. It was the first Decca compilation in five years. It would be followed by a compilation of ballads a year later called Slow Rollers .

Endless Summer is a compilation album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released on June 24, 1974. A collection of hits from the band's 1962–65 period, Endless Summer was compiled by their old label, Capitol Records, following the success of the film American Graffiti, in which several songs were featured. It revitalized the band's popularity after years of lukewarm sales, but also inspired nostalgia for the Beach Boys' early surfing and hot rod-themed music, repositioning the group as an oldies act.
Alan Charles Wilder is an English musician, composer, arranger, record producer and former member of the electronic band Depeche Mode from 1982 to 1995. Since his departure from the band, the musical project called Recoil became his primary musical enterprise, which initially started as a side project to Depeche Mode in 1986. Wilder has also provided production and remixing services to the bands Nitzer Ebb and Curve. Alan Wilder was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 as a member of Depeche Mode. He is a classically trained musician.
"I Believe in Father Christmas" is a song by English musician Greg Lake with lyrics by Peter Sinfield. Although it is often categorised as a Christmas song, this was not Lake's intention. He said that he wrote the song in protest at the commercialisation of Christmas. Sinfield, however, said that the words are about a loss of innocence and childhood belief. Released in 1975, the song reached number two on the UK Singles Chart, number 17 on the Irish Singles Chart and number 98 in Australia.
"Coz I Luv You" is a song by the British rock band Slade, released in 1971 as a non-album single. It was written by lead vocalist Noddy Holder and bassist Jim Lea, and produced by Chas Chandler. It reached number 1 in the UK Singles Chart, giving the band their first number one single, and remained in the top 50 for fifteen weeks.
Repeat Performance were a series of budget compilation albums issued by Charisma Records in 1980. The first of the series was a various artists compilation, subsequent albums showcased an artist on the label. BG004, claimed to be a compilation of Genesis, was unissued.
B Stiff is the first EP by American new wave band Devo, released in 1978 by Stiff Records.

Sonny and Cher had released three albums and one single which achieved Gold status in the United States: Look At Us, Sonny & Cher Live, All I Ever Need Is You and I Got You babe. In the decade they spent together, Sonny and Cher sold over 40 million records worldwide.
Hits is a compilation album by Mike + The Mechanics, released in 1996 except in the United States and Canada, where it was released in 2005. It contains nearly all of the band's hits up to the time of its release. "All I Need Is a Miracle" was re-recorded for the album.
Genius of Modern Music: Volume 1 is the name given to at least four different compilation albums by jazz pianist Thelonious Monk. Each version comprises some of Monk's first recordings as band leader for Blue Note, recorded in 1947. The original 10-inch LP with this title was compiled in 1951.
The Hits Album 5 or Hits 5 is a compilation album released in November 1986 by RCA-Ariola, CBS and WEA. It was the fifth in the Hits series which would span over 20 years, with the first volume released in December 1984. This was also the first Hits compilation to be released on Compact Disc - a single-CD featuring 16 of the 32 tracks featured on the conventional LP and cassette. It also managed to reach number one on the UK Albums Chart where it remained for two weeks, before being dethroned by its rival Now 8. A video compilation was also released on VHS by CBS/Fox Video.
The Hits Album, or Hits 1 as it is often called, is a compilation album released by CBS and WEA in November 1984. The album was released as a rival to the already successful Now That's What I Call Music series which EMI and Virgin Records had launched in November 1983. The Hits Album reached No. 1 in the UK Top 100 Albums chart for seven weeks and remained in the chart for 36 weeks. This album kept Now 4 from the coveted No. 1 spot over Christmas 1984 – the only Now album in the original series not to reach No. 1 in either the UK Album Chart or the UK Compilations Chart.

Milestones is a compilation album by The Rolling Stones, released in 1972 by Decca Records. It reached number 14 on the UK Albums Chart. Less popular and well known than the contemporaneous compilation album Hot Rocks 1964–1971, it was released by Decca without the consent or input from the band. Due to the nature of their contract prior to 1971, the band lost all rights to releases of their own music prior to 1971; those rights instead are held jointly by ABKCO Records and Decca Records. Both ABKCO and Decca would continue to release compilation albums, without input from the band, over the next several decades. The front cover is a closeup of Mick Jagger live, while the back cover shows the faces of the rest of the band's original lineup: Brian Jones, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts, in four boxes much like The Beatles Let It Be front cover.
Bee Gees Gold is a compilation album, released in limited territories, that focused on the early hits of the Bee Gees. Labeled as "Volume 1", it featured their U.S. Top 20 hits between 1967 and 1972. The album was intended to replace the two previous hits compilations, Best of Bee Gees and Best of Bee Gees, Volume 2. It reached number 50 on Billboard's album chart during a time when the Bee Gees were topping the charts with their new R&B/disco sound found on their then current album Children of the World. Gold went gold in America in January 1978 and has sold 1.3 million copies to date. A kind of second volume was released as Bee Gees Greatest in 1979 which summed up the disco years from 1975 to 1979.
The Collection is a compilation album by American band Earth, Wind & Fire issued in 1986 on K-Tel Records. The album reached No. 5 on the UK Pop Albums chart and was certified Gold in the UK by the BPI.
The Kinks Are Well Respected Men is a two disc compilation album by British rock group the Kinks, released in 1987. The album consists of all the non-album singles and b-sides released in the UK by the Kinks from 1964 to 1970. It also includes all of the tracks from the 1964 Kinksize Session EP and the 1965 Kwyet Kinks EP.
Story of The Stones is a compilation album of The Rolling Stones, released in the UK in 1982. Released by the Irish arm of the mail order company K-tel, the double vinyl record or cassette tape album reached number 24 on the UK Albums Chart and being certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry for 100,000 units sold.
Coz I Luv You is a compilation album by the British rock band Slade. It was released in 1972 in certain European countries, Australia and Argentina. It was the band's first compilation album and reached No. 10 in the Netherlands.
The Very Best of Aretha Franklin, Vol. 1 is a compilation album by singer Aretha Franklin, released by Rhino Records in March 1994. The album compiles 13 of her first 14 singles for Atlantic Records all of which were recorded during the 1960s. The original recordings were produced by Jerry Wexler, and this compilation was certified platinum by the RIAA.
Songs My Mother Wrote (Lynn Anderson Sings Liz Anderson) is a compilation album by American country artist Lynn Anderson. It was released in June 1970 via Chart Records and was produced by Slim Williamson. The album was Anderson's second compilation released in her music career. The album was a collection of recordings composed by her mother and songwriter, Liz Anderson. Twelve tracks were included on the record in its original release.
