Sphingomonas astaxanthinifaciens is a bacterium from the genus of Sphingomonas which has been isolated from fresh water in Misasa in Japan. [1] [3] [4] [5] Sphingomonas astaxanthinifaciens has the ability to produce astaxanthin. [5]
